Just said that the government and the MHRA? Will not rule out using challenge study's to combat the expected variant Covid strains / cases. In fact he said the government are presently working with Oxford University regarding this.

This gives another independent confirmation that the FT article naming ODX as one of three manufacturers chosen by the UK Government to roll out LFTs.
Rachael Reeves MP submitted a written question to the Cabinet Office on Monday 8th February. Expected answer is dated Thursday 11th February. The fact she has to ask the question " on what basis" , confirms to me that the FT article was correct ( even though most of you already knew this lol).

Its a fantastic that share holders have been promised excellent news at anytime - and so many possibility's which news will land first. Open Orphan is a big box of good news story's, just waiting to be opened, at the present time.

I'm excited about all the various opportunity's here but the meeting with the Chinese manufacturers and the equivalent of their FDA last week has really taken my imagination to a place, that I / we did not know existed a few days ago. Imagine being the worlds best, and only player in China - what sorts of money could be involved. This is a small AIM company with something to sell that is needed now, and in direct dialogue with the Chinese government.

I can see the positives here, and indeed I am invested which might seem a bit strange to some but do believe if an investment case is strong enough, then should be able to take it.

Maybe i have been around a bit to long on Aim and others.....become sceptical when things look to straight forward....it has saved me a few times... and i have missed a few big winners a few times, but AIM doesn't often do straight forward, they are rare.

Hi Chuggly - so ODX was approached by the FT and ODX gave then the entire story, plus the names of the other manufacturers.

Everything i the RNS ids true, and hopefully as we all hope for. I'm also invested here, made a good profit, hope for a lot more BUT, lets assume that things are not so hunky dory, ODX would still continue to hit its targets - but would now be chasing non government tenders, on the open market - they will be looking for contracts and supply agreements - but not here.
They have not lied, but told the truth - and with a good wind - it would just be a different end customer.

I may be totally wrong - but why isn't the FT times release ( if water tight) not been picked up by other media outlets - just Bloomerg repeated it verbatim - and some obscure inline news feed probably owned by Bloomerg or FT. That was it.

Hi Beachball. If ODX new that the FT had been fed wrong information, lets say. Then this would be a hard rns to manage - i would say. They did nothing wrong by just noting the FT press release , accepting it for what it was , and at the same time made sure that they told the truth - no sales.
It would have damaged them, with no favours if they just blew the report out of the water and stated that they had not yet been informed that they had been chosen - look bad on them, look bad on FT and look bad at the hand that will hopefully feed them- the government..

It could be argued if we are late getting to the standard of quality , to have submitted to these trials then we certainly missed this selection crucial process.

I think you understand why I am trying to test this a bit - as whatever i or you say will not effect the market one jot , so nothing lost - but as we enjoy what looks like from nearly every angle the the beginnings of a OXD journey upwards - there is this persistent back drop of legitimate information being put out by the UK government that contradicts a lot of the messages we like to celebrate on twitter and FB etc.
Day traders and shorter's can look after themselves - they have their risk already identified. Others, going in big and long term should also read and explore the less glamorous information that is being handed to us on a weekly basis.

Here is a challenge Can anyone find a secondary source of information written before the FT article was published, that confirms that the three successful manufacturers of RFT are , who the FT named.

I thought I would post this again as it offended several posters earlier today. They should be in bed by now so i thought i would try again. Just for the record i am not the author of these press releases, and they are posted on the UK parliament web site as updates of the governments latest thinking regarding the roll out of using LFTs nationally in the UK.
Burying your head in the sand should not be an option when Investors here are talking about investments in ODX the size of houses. I have been around long enough - to know that checking details and especially finding credible sources of news is important . The FT is very credible, and they named OXD - so not being able to find a secondary reference to ODX to support the FT is of concern - and its been out for days. What i would hope is that some more savy investors or researchers here could look into these findings and possible unearth some unknowns and explanations to explain their appearances on the government web site this past week or so. Simple as that.
The big question for me is : Is ODX one of the three highlighted by the FT and if not, does that mean that ODX wth or without the consortium relinquish their relationship with the UK Government and take their offering onto the world markets as a private endeavor. This would explain why ODX are tweeting confident and tooling up.

"The Government has been evaluating multiple rapid point-of-care tests, of which lateral flow tests are one type. As numerous tests have become commercially available the Government has focused its resources on detailed evaluations of a limited number of tests in order to make decisions about which ones to use in national and regional programmes. Three lateral flow devices have passed the Government’s minimum standards for quality:

Healgen Coronavirus Antigen Rapid Test.
SD Biosensor Lateral Flow Test.
Innova SARS-CoV-2 Antigen test.
As far as SureScreen is concerned . They and four other company's were evaluated for the old and the new variants.
Published 23 December 2020 that confirms that "As part of the most recent round of Phase 3 testing, the performance of five LFDs has been evaluated by the scientific team here against a panel of recent clinical samples from the Lighthouse Laboratory at Milton Keynes that contain the new variant. They have also been evaluated using material cultured in recent days from the variant that was sent here by colleagues at PHE Colindale on 14 December. The following LFDs were evaluated, which target nucleocapsid protein:
Abbott Panbio
Fortress
Innova
Roche / SD Biosensor nasal swab
Sure screen

"Public Health England (PHE) Porton Down and the University of Oxford are evaluating these tests for the UK Government. There is a 4-stage process, with tests progressing according to how well they meet specified standards – details of this are available in our previous article about lateral flow tests.

Data so far show that the three tests show moderate sensitivity (about 70%) when compared with highly sensitive PCR tests and are better at picking up infections in people who have high viral loads. One test ( I assume Innova) was rolled out nationally in December 2020, on the basis of an incomplete evaluation, and is discussed in the next section. It is not clear whether the Government’s time limited SARS-CoV-2 test and development evaluation programme (which includes lateral flow tests) has concluded.

On 23 December the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency issued an authorisation to the Department of Health and Social Care, permitting the use of lateral flow tests by members of the public to detect infection in asymptomatic people. The brand of test to which this authorisation applies to is not clear but is described as the “NHS Test and Trace Self-Test kit”.

I hope so. Just a word of slight caution that nothing is certain on AIM until it is confirmed. The FT article was extremely positive, but i would like to see some evidence of their source or at lest something independent to back it up.

I am invested here, and doing well like most of you guys and I want it to succeed but not without trying to double check everything you come to hear about. The OXD tweets are noncommittal in my opinion- so they are not confirming anything - just stating a fact that nothing's certain until signature. O spent most of last night trying to find something to support the FT article.

The Innova LFD is now being widely rolled out across the country and the Abbott LFD is being field-tested in a small number of settings. The other three LFDs above will be field-tested in the New Year to complete their Phase 3 evaluation.

So SureScreen may work against variant Covid. This made me think are they retesting units for the new variants.?

So there is some independent source to say that Sure Screen is likely to be a success.
What about Omega Diagnostics.

I could not find anything directly from government which directly stated Omiga in the chosen three manufacturers chosen to roll out LFT in UK, but it may exist and i failed to find it.

Probably not so much to sign contracts as i would have thought that could be done anywhere, but maybe a media story in the making - a successful Government initiative, home grown diagnostic industry needs a media christening - its a good positive story.
