RE: Salinbas - Article from December 201911 Jan 2020 23:13
I think it boils done to timescales and risk. Some of us have been invested for longer than we like to say and welcome this low risk accelerated route to monetisation. If you are happy to remain invested for another 10 years then maybe going it alone might eventually deliver bigger results, but that certainly isn’t guaranteed. The Co. have said for years that Salinbas was too big for them and this not only solves that but also will transform the balance sheet and give Ariana the opportunity to share in the stated goal to “become one of the premier mining companies in Turkey”. That is a massive expansion from where we are now. I suspect Kerim and team have been frustrated by the constraints of size and cash knowing they have the skills, energy and enthusiasm to do much greater things. Good luck to them I say . I’m sure that those of us with a shorter term investment horizon, who appreciate the added advantage of the de-risking, will also be the beneficiaries. When has Kerim let us down? Time to again trust and support him imo.
