Today is the last day for this particular BB program. The AGM is tomorrow. If the usual 125,000 @ say 137p is bought back today, then only c. $5.56 m out of the $10 m is used to buyback 3,159,161 shares; VWAP = 137.962 GBX.

For the time being, Peel Hunt unable to do buyback because the SP is above its 5sma. The 5sma = 137.78 as of yesterday' close.

49+6 = 55. 6 below the 49

ADR closing price yesterday was $9.61. As I type it is 9.06, only 6 USc (0.7%) below the ADR dividend of 49 USc. So ADR holders didn't suffer today as much as ordinary holders yesterday! Makes me wonder the two price curves behave differently even though they are both instruments of the same equity!

From the preliminary results RNS:

" The ex-dividend date for the final dividend is 6 June 2024 for ordinary shareholders and 7 June 2024 for ADR holders, the record date is 7 June 2024 and the dividend is payable on 2 August 2024."

Yes, I know, the point is being paid early (at the moment of sale!) rather than wait for pay day in August. With the closing price of 76.64 today with a chunky UT of c. 27 m shares, it is looking increasingly likely that I would be able to buyback even less than 73p! VOD has a looong lonnng history of dropping by more than the divi after x-div.

I sold the lot this morning @ 77.4 only to watch it going up to 77.9. If I could buy back @ 73 in the days to come, then I would've made my own divi + some profit and paid all to myself early! Will that happen?🤞

No I am not as I do realise it may not be recovered, just like the $x00 m that were never recovered during the ISIS years, which caused the 2016 restructuring. All I am saying that substantial further investment should be conditioned on the recovery of the past arrears. The company must stop unnecessarily hoarding cash in anticipation, or even crazier by going into debt again to fund such investments.

Not if the $151 m of arrears paid. If no payment, then no "intensive Capex program". The arrears more than 15x the ongoing buyback program of a pittiful $10m which is entirely funded by a month or two of FCF which is also ongoing!

Those "technical analysts" only appear after the "event". If I knew beforehand I would had sold the house, car, dog , wife to buy imb. Fortunately, I didn't 😀

I was screaming buyback months ago when the SP dipped below £1. And hoping for $50m funding not just $10m. It is better than nothing anyway, @ a VWAP 130P the return is c. 2.5%.

I am real, and I'd urge you to remember the word 'sinificant' in the expression "significant further investment". In my book it means: when the costs (opex + capex) incurred in a given time period exceeds the costs recovered from the CRP within the said time period.

Please, also remember that before GKP no one ever heard about the 'Shaikan Oil Field' because there was no 'Shaikan Oil Field'! It is GKP who discovered the 'Shaikan Oil Field' and that entitles GKP to certain rights and merits even according to the Iraqi Constitution whoever is assuming jurisdiction over the territory.

This is totally different with other IOCs operating oil fields anywhere in Iraq that were known many many decades ago.

I for one, wouldn't want to be a GKP shareholder anymore if they end up being forced to make such investments without recognising past dues.

For those who argue that GKP might be obliged to make significant further investment, the answer is simple: there is $151 m unpaid invoices, get those paid in full with interest and it will be invested in Shaikan. No payment, no further investment.

No need at all to keep excess cash.
