Very intriguing how much more simplistic and base the posts have become from knowledgeable posters in the wake of the Reddit movement. Paring back some old heads it would seem. I reckon seismic shifts like this are a great leveller. Let’s see who wins through. Hopefully lth like me in cine.
I know no one responds to me and I don’t really care. However I have posted before that my wife is a nurse at our Local GP surgery. Today she has had her first shot of the Oxford vaccine......she has had the regular flu vaccine in years gone by and reacted to it quite severely...swollen painful arm...felt like poo...even had to take a day off work because of it. Her boss, one of the partners now won’t give her any more flu vaccines because of the adverse reaction she had. Guess what. Absolutely no reaction to the Oxford covid vaccine. She was understandably nervous before having it. She is now buzzing. Can’t wait to have the second shot. Showed me her arm and I struggled to find the injection site. Also a very my slick and efficient process that she encountered with the vaccination process. Believe what you will and this virus is absolutely devastating...but there is an unbelievable amount of dedicated people doing miraculous to beat it.
Cinemark flying
Cinemark reopening venues in Pennsylvania and Colorado..sorry if that’s been posted already.
It’s not far off a year now since COVID took hold. Cineworld would have gone under by now if they weren’t a viable company going forward. Yet they are secured until spring. They could secure further funding quite easily to survive much further if needed even if it means some dilution for us shareholders. I’m long here to the tune of 50k shares. Not massive by some standards but big for me. People on the whole are social animals. This will snap the other way massively once effective immunisation starts showing results..it’s got to.
Going to be a red day tomoz lol
Pesky shorts
My wife’s a nurse at our local gp surgery so gone through the online training yesterday. This vaccine Can be kept for 5 days in a normal fridge after defrosting. 6 hours in a cool bag for home visits. Comes in one thousand dose vials. Or up to five thousand dose vials. Which have to be drawn down for each individual. It’s a miracle that this vaccination even exists in this timeframe don’t get me wrong. But it ain’t a magic bullet. I hate analogies but it’s like tasking a Michelin starred chef with curing mass hunger. Which is why I think cine hasn’t raced away today. Oxford vaccine on the other hand...cheap..easily stored and transported.
??. Armchair experts eh
Agreed. This vaccine is going to be a logistical nightmare what with having to be stored at -70 degrees. Two doses and 28 days before full immunisation. It’s a promising first step but we need a much more workable solution like the Oxford vaccine to get the green light.
Well done all those that predicted 40 or lower today at close...don’t give up your day jobs ????
Up 62%!
I think the market will look on this positively as it’s the right thing to do for Cineworld to shut up shop for the time being. Initial 10-15 % drop From the panic sellers and stops being triggered then a steady recovery to current level I reckon. This share doesn’t help the blood pressure but damn it’s exciting. Also I realise everyone on this board is a millionaire investing prodigy...but spare a thought for the Cineworld staff.
I will believe trump has Covid if he dies from it.
Soooo. In my layman’s eyes. The deal AMC ceo did with universal to compromise on the theatrical window in exchange for a cut of pvod revenue is looking quite inspired right now.
So it’s reasonable to assume the Tenet gamble,as noble as I was, didn’t work.
Oh cr*p only just read this. Cinema will survive. Cineworld is kaput.
Right done my maths. 2nd mortgage on my 2 bed flat and if I sell my Fiesta...I reckon I can pursue a hostile takeover of Cineworld sometime before Christmas.
My point is for those that enjoy the experience of the a good cinema like Cineworld, for this brief moment in time and everything else not withstanding I think there’s never a better time to go. There’s more risk of getting Covid just nipping into Tesco’s for some sprouts. Unfortunately I agree with the naysayers in this board tho. Cineworld has massive headwinds. Enjoy it while it’s still there.
Not a worry. Mainly because there’s no one going in there now to introduce the virus now. I love cinema. But the writing is in the wall for Cineworld.
