The issue is not how much oil could be found but how much oil should be used. COP26 is unlikely to be a major success given the parlous state of current world politics and the incompetence of the government hosting it, but nevertheless the Climate Change agenda will grow stronger over the coming decade.
We will be transitioning away from fossil fuels over the next three decades, the only question being the speed at which this can be accomplished, either because of the speed of innovation or political will.
It is not the amount of oil that CASP has which is at issue, it is the speed with which it can develop it. Given the limited capital resources available, it seems to me that the best outcome for shareholders will be to attract the involvement of an Oil Major which will have these capital resources. Deep success is what will make this happen. Shallow revenue could assist with this. A dividend next year might make the institutions take us seriously but pouring the money into properly financed attempts on the deeps would be my preferred option
