As New York opened the dollar rose sharply and the DOW dropped sharply at the same time as the 5% fall in Brent. A rising dollar could lead to a fall in Brent to balance out the costs in other weaker currencies. The only thing which would link these things up together would be rumours of further US interest rate rises

S600, its the other way round. I think we will not get an international licence for the deeps until we have produced oil from them. Given the likely flow rate, should we ever be successful, I think the limiting factor is more likely to be pipeline construction.

I will use any dividend to diversify. Currently looking at BWNG which is on a downward trajectory and is probably already oversold. It may be at the right level for me in the autumn.

I like the EXTREMELY on that slide. That suggests they may be planning a divi above 50% of net profits. They would be able to do this as they can cover onging investment out of current income. From capital depreciation to major income share almost overnight!

It's very difficult to know how low this could go while we wait for the court case resolution. The market really doesn't like uncertainty. I am thinking of buying here but it is currently to early IMO

This will now move with real news, not promises. Boaty, dividend, H1 financials, output updates. September is probably the month to look out for unless they get their divi news out earlier.

A July announcement of a divi won't translate into a solid sp rise until its backed up by sound financial results. Hopefully they will roll the H2 outcomes in with a divi declaration in the same RNS. The suggested 0.4pdivi might get us as far as 8p so hopefully its better than that. More likely we will have to be a bit patient.

We had $1m in the bank at the start of June but we should have had at least $8m revenues during June. But we still have some outstanding obligations in relation to the social fund and no doubt others that we are unclear about at this stage. From next month onwards I think we should be able to start amassing a dividend fund. A December payment sounds most sensible if it is to be large enough for the market to sit up and take notice.

The question that must be asked is why this was not clear at the time that indications that a July dividend would be made, earlier in the year, as others have suggested already.
