But as you know KK, it is simply an extrapolation of the situation CASP is in with a possible P/E ratio below one looking forward (I know it should be calculated looking backwards). OPEC+ are meeting today but with little spare capacity, there is not much prospect prices falling anytime soon.

The sp has been drifting down on the back of the poor communications since the AGM. I am waiting for the next couple of RNSs which I think will turn this trend around.

My prediction is that nothing will happen in August. In September there will be an RNS about a dividend. In October there will be an RNS updating us on output and drilling progress. My spreadsheet is currently in GIGO mode and is also saying nothing at all. Lie back and enjoy the heatwaves.

I think you may be getting a little paranoid here! Incompetence is one thing, but malice is quite another. They are poor at communications. They overpromise and underdeliver. But if we are going to be critical, should we not also look at ourselves? We over interpret any utterance from the management, persauding ourselves that the most optimistic version of ambiguous statements is the correct one. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don' think Clive has definitely said there would be a dividend in July. He has said things that could be interpreted in that way but only by people suffering from wishful thinking.

The dividend will come, probably in September but maybe later. It is likely to be in the 0.1p to 0.25p range. I am personally not worrying about it for now. Have a nice summer!

Expectations of communications about operational matters and the divi is what is being ramped up on this board, rather than the sp. We have talked ourselves into expecting a rapid response on both these matters despite having had the opposite experience over the last decade.

My message is: chill. This is CASP. Go away; have a holiday; September would be soon enough for me.

I think Russia is unlikely to want more than one southern war. If it wants Turkey and Iran as allies, it is unlikely to attack muslim majority nations such as the "stans". The Ukraine war is already overstretching Russia and it has few enough allies as it is. Although the former USSR states appear to have equal status, Transnistria and Armenia as christian states will in practice get priority treatment over the others.
Kazakhstan is planning to invest to diversify its oil delivery routes and would be wise to prioritise this .

ODS, if 5-6k bopd on the shallows is a medium term ceiling then the question arises as to what CASP will do with the surplus cash. Plugging in your rather pessimistic asuumptions into my model, I get 1p divi p.a. and about $30m left over to invest. This raises the question of a medium term strategy of re-addressing the deeps with some serious investment. 3AB and Boaty are outside these calculations. If KEBCO comes good, the position will be better than this IMNOO

The sp often moves a long way on thin trading but today we are up 4% on zero trades!

4.5-5k bopd is capacity rather tha output. Past experience suggest outcomes well below capacity. On the other hand capacity is likely to rise above 5k bopd next year
