ImmuPharma PLC (LON:IMM) said it is focused on the “optimum route forward” for the business that includes the phase III development of its key asset, Lupuzor, but will also focus on up and coming candidates in the portfolio.

Its nucant and peptide programmes appear to have the potential to open three therapeutic areas: cancer, metabolism and anti-infectives.

ImmuPharma also told investors it was looking at potential other auto-immune disease uses for Lupuzor distinct from the treatment of lupus.

Looks tightly held in this area and bottom looks like its 13p from here, very confident from CEO taking 200k in the last placing, from a progression point of view i think as the announcement come in with regard to the progression of phase3 with LUPUZOR we should see some momentum build behind that. The next 12 months are key here, we know from the past here what can go wrong, but sometimes as tim said you have to dust yourself down and see the potential here, i believe from research the outlook for lupus in USA alone is $1 billion market. If LUPUZOR can become the drug of choice this market place in itself is huge, worldwide we are looking at maybe a market place of $3b plus on a product we hope will be cheaper than competitors, have more benefits and less side effects. Antiviral opportunity

Through its subsidiary UREkA Pharma, the Company has become a partner in a consortium dedicated to the development of novel peptides intended to block the fusion of COVID-19 and other viruses to the target cell. The aim is to apply the results of fundamental research to the development of novel inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 entry into target cells using the Urelix™ patented technology of UREkA Pharma together with contributions from the other members of the consortium.? Anti-fungal opportunity | 'BioAMP-B'

The Company has recently developed BioAMP-B, a novel peptide-based drug that offers a potential improvement on Amphotericin-B ("Amp-B"). Amp-B is one of the few effective treatments for many serious and life threatening fungal infections such as aspergillosis (lung infection) but has been known the cause serious kidney toxicity in 14-15% of patients. The Company’s BioAMP-B's target profile has a superior safety profile to Ambisome. Sales of Ambisome in 2019 were $407 million. Next step is lead candidate optimisation.
