Just reflecting on yesterday. It sort of felt like a revenue warning, yet I think they were trying to convey good news but it was so badly written no one really had a clue what they were trying to say. The rns smacks of DL’s hand, we don’t really need to know all the ins and outs of product development. And if you do want to tell us , it’s an idea to give a consistent story.
Just read these two and it smacks of trying to be ‘clever’, doing a U turn yet trying not to lose face. Don’t go into this sort of detail in the first place.
14th December
‘Ethernity is adapting its hardware version to produce an improved and more comprehensive go-to-market product that will enable greater and more cost-effective functionality, along with faster turnaround on the Company's deliveries.’
14th February
Ethernity is pleased to update that following internal positioning work and collaboration with certain of the Company's contracted customers, it was agreed to restore the plans to produce the contracted UEP platform (planned for completion of fabrication by end of Feb/22), which is a higher-end product that better fits the 5G transport market. This includes the original design plan to support 25GbE, additional L3 features, security functions, and Power Over Ethernet (POE) for radio equipment, making the product more attractive within the industry.
Least ENET have already won something, the award for the years most bungled indecipherable convoluted bury the really good bit why say anything RNS of the year!
Well done guys!
The only thing that could beat it into second place is the next ENET RNS, stand by yer beds!
How can you put out an update 6 weeks into the New Year yet fail completely to mention last years performance?
Unbelievable!
If the bod are so dopey it beggars belief, surely the NOMAD should be picking them up.
This was a RNS, not RNS reach. What exactly were they attempting to do.
The RNS says update.
Nothing on last years performance, sakes etc, zilch.
Nothing on cash position, if vital interest to investors.
The vaguest of terms for this year, which they’ve amalgamated with next year
Some boffin like discussion as to why the product they said was the best option now wasn’t the best option.
All couched in pidgeon English.
What gives with this lot?
The RNS should have looked more like this. We don’t need to know all that under the bonnet stuff.
Ethernity Networks are pleased to provide the following update:
The Company anticipates significant growth in 2022/2023 from its UEP and ACE-NIC family of products and successful delivery of existing and follow on contracts will deliver in excess of $20m over the next 24 months. In addition, the Company continues to benefit from royalty and licensing revenue streams, in particular the company anticipates further orders from Tarana Wireless due to the success of their G1 product containing Ethernity technology.
For more information on Ethernity's products and solutions, please see The Company's website at www.ethernitynet.com .
Wonder if the ENET guys have ever heard of the phrase ‘snatch defeat from the jaws of victory’ ?
1. Who writes these utter waffle RNS?
2. Who checks the damn things
3. What are their NOMAD/ advisors doing?
4. Can they replace all of the above?
If ENET had put out an RNS saying minimum expectations for UEP product is c $20m over next two years and everything in the garden is rosy shares would be 45p-50p now.
Instead, they buried that bit in the middle of a load of convoluted waffle.
Agree gh
But it seems investors are at the back of the pile when it comes to presentation, clarity, information etc etc.
Oh, unless they want our cash!
Warrants now looking a massive stretch, perhaps they will go for a 35p/45p lowering. Either that or one of ENET’s ‘famous’ discounted offerings.
Nothing in the financials at all in the update, apart from being ‘very successful’. How, exactly?
Dallo
Good to get your thoughts.
How many badly constructed RNS and schoolboy errors do we have to put up with? Why do t they get some help on IR and do the job properly?
As you say, there were some upbeat statements in there, like the excess of $20m, but it was such a messy , convoluted and unclear message they put out than any positives drowned out by the confusing, unclear and in some places ridiculous wording they used.
If someone comes in and takes them out for a decent premium over current levels they get my vote. They seem incapable of learning a fairly easy lesson
Hopeless!
Hi skid
That sounds reasonable re your explanation of what the $20m means. Gawd knows why they can’t express themselves clearly. Does the $20m include PON products? Is Tarana included (I hope not).
What are the financial implications of this? We are told that it’s ‘very successful towards financial growth’. Answers on a post card as to what that boils down to.
GtheG
Well, it certainly seemed like it was aimed at me, given I’ve been one of the main proponents of ENET clearly explaining what they mean re 2022 growth forecasts will be met etc.
I’m relaxed as well, plenty of cash and divi shares. But also I will hold them to account. You just can’t come out and say ‘our path towards financial growth has been very successful’ then give absolutely no detail of what that means. That’s just one example. Imo, the IR function here is sadly lacking, as talking to other ENET investors they share most of my views and concerns. They need to get their act together and stop issuing own goals RNS.
all the best

GtheG
As you’ve reposted your a d v f n post, I will post mine
If that is aimed at me GtheG you are way off beam.
I said they should back up their transformational, exponential and growth plans would be met in 2022 with forecasts to the market, otherwise they are meaningless statements. I stand by that 100%.
Now they’ve issued another largely confusing RNS which one ends up with more questions than answers.
Eg, UEP, looks like 180 turn round from Dec 14 th update.
Pipeline contracts, what are they, never heard of them, assume they mean anticipated or indicated contracts.
‘…on a path toward financial growth have been extremely successful,’
Great, what does that mean? Meaningless statement with nothing to back it up.
They just can’t write a clear RNS to save their lives.
Eg ‘….pipeline contracts’, never heard of them, they don’t exist!
‘….path toward financial growth have been extremely successful, ‘
Great, what does that actually mean? Ok for cash?
It’s a meaningless sound bite.
Guess which is the best version?
As ever, ENET do a RNS like no other.
What a confusing mess of a RNS
Where to start?
Unbelievable, and not just on the following.
No detail, no proper explanation, nothing.
Who writes these things?
There’s a great business here, but not sure investors will ever find it buried under a heap of a confusing mess of a RNS
