so glad to be out of this stock last year after holding 10 years. it's a **** show. not investible.
Will probably eat my words, but it's holding up well despite the CPI report from the USA yesterday.
holy ****, glad i got out about 8 months ago. i really thought i was being rash too.
Nice. Also the first time I've been significantly up on my position having bought in the 7s and 6s. I think patience will reward us. Next year should see rates ease and equity come back into favor. Still a lot of cash on the sidelines and in money market funds (me included).
The lesson: Ignore any coverage from VOX Markets. Don't invest in AIM shares.
*have = hate
Sometimes I really have the FTSE / UK markets. NVIDIA rocketing and we get a paltry 2.9%.
The only content creator I've found worth following on YouTube has been Ramin Nakita aka Pensioncraft. Vox is full of it. Rampy nonsense.
Oh christ. Yeah. Learnt my lesson with RevB and to not listen to a single thing Vox Market's have to say. Almost took a position here. This is why I steer clear of AIM stocks. Super risky. Hope you're all doing okay. Brutal.
Pivot Party ABORTED! I repeat ABORT! Thanks US CPI.
Pivot party squarely back on with predictions inflation will ease faster than expected. Will be interesting to see US CPI figures today.
Yeah, I was kinda wishing I'd set a stop loss at £8 to sell 1/3 of my holding to rebuy lower, but hindsight and all that. Happy to just hold through the volatility and not try to time the market.
Today:
Moderna’s shares surged 15.5 per cent after investment bank Oppenheimer upgraded its stock in anticipation of new product launches in the next 12 to 18 months.
Keep the faith Reptilian, it'll get there. Just time and a bit of patience required. I'm kinda bad at sitting on my hands with investments, but plan to hold for this one till it sorts itself out. I have faith that its still a bargain for the component parts. People into far sillier thing for lots of money. You could do a lot worse than SMT.
so, i have been eyeing bats up all year trying to decide if i want to buy in. their cash on hand looks good, excellent dividend and the share is trading fairly low currently.
however, i feel the industry is in decline long term and there's a possibility that the share may drop further. half tempted to get in for the divi, then see what happens.
bulls and bears, you opinions? am i talking out of my ****?
That yield is going to drop like a stone when the already announced divi cut comes.
So, with the dovish FED stance and the market pricing in rate cuts in mid-late 2024, it's risk on and we've got our mini rally. I do wonder however, if reality come crashing in come Jan / Feb and everything has a rough few months. In any case, the over trajectory is like up for 2024. Glad I piled into SMT over the past year. My holding is only 5k but I'm fine with that.
Could just be the santa rally, but definitely a more concerted uptrend for SMT of late.
I'd like to buy into GW for sure, but still feel it is overvalued at a PE of 23. Would need a more meaningful fall to be attractive to me. I think we may see some more pain early next year, as I don't think we are out of the woods yet with inflation.
Worth noting SMT is back on the no. 1 spot in Interactive Investors' most bought trusts. I think positive sentiment is building again.
