Some very interesting and well articulated posts on this thread, makes a nice change! My 2p FWIW, I see the points about how big of a factor the potential changes in travelling culture are, but in all honesty I think you're giving the gen-pop too much credit there. I don't think joe public is anywhere near as discerning as some might think, certainly not in this country anyway. It takes a hell of a lot to change the habits of a lifetime, and global travel is Firmly embedded in our culture, we will look for any excuse to do a bit of sun-seeking, and even now the word on lot of people's lips is 'when can we go on holiday again?'
Couple that with the fact that the major economic hit from lack of tourism will eventually drive many governments to start aggressively campaigning to restore people's faith in holidaymaking (perhaps even incentive-ise it as Sicily have done) I think will make for a recipe that results in a significant global travel boom lasting a few years, starting summer 2021 (vaccine dependant of course).
All in my humble opinion of course!
