I'm sorry to say Nigco, you have been mis-lead entirely by what you have read. The strikes have crippled the appointment work stack which is growing exponentially to the point of out of control (21 days to attend a fault in some instances) The CEO should be ashamed of his 'head in the sand' attitude towards the customers and his work force. He has stated 'the work force should the treating the company's wealth as there own' .... Well they do , and they want the same option to take a larger slice of the profits , just as he has. Seems like he has missed judged it totally but is to arrogant to back track.... do you really think the true strike figures would be announced to the world? ..
HANDYMAN re 'At a time when the entire country should be pulling together, unions like the CWU are bent on destroying what is an already fragile economy. Bunch of fools, stuck in the Sixties and Seventies. You need to grow up Smash, not me.....
.. so are you saying the CEO and the many board members taking a massive payrise called pulling together... those who are out of touch with struggles that many will endure should not be allowed to make a decision on what's affordable. Hope you feel great about your comments.. it must be so nice to be so knowledgeable about the current financial situation that we haven't experienced before, I vote you for PM .. you'd make boris look half bad!!
Handjobman. You shout too loud about things you know nothing about. The living wage you mention is outdated and growns more irrelevant each day., as does your knowledge of the numbers striking and the effect it has had on the work stack. People on the chat that see the truth day in-day out are the only ones qualified to comment whereas you believe what you get told by the BT press wagon that would never let the truth come out they may have to explain themselves.
unluckyInvestor9... by not paying staff the current living wage and breaking moral is a way of becoming less profitable for sure The board need to understand who does the graft and creates the wealth even during adverse times.
Handyjobman... your view is as antiquated as it is selfish. so, 40,000 people are wrong expecting to be paid a share of the profits of a company in a form of a pay rise... any different than you expecting gains for your financial investments. maybe the separation is that all employees deserve it for keeping the company in good shape. whereas you have no care who earned your profits and think you can laugh at those in this country that maybe suffering as the board seek to drive salaries down. And Heavy's view is not socialism its just common sense , something you obviously lack
handjobmandy.. maybe if the CEO had awarded a pay increase that came anywhere near inflation we would be prepared for fuel increases. as you seem to know everything , did you know that the months before the pay rise , overtime was stopped as Mr J knew this was going to IA so any pay increase was candled out ? Mr J cares nothing for his workforce , only himself and his major investor pals. I'd say from you aggressive tone you need to take you opinions elsewhere as you have little concern for people fighting for what they believe is only fair. did you risk catching COVID-19 attempting to restore vital communications for kids and teachers to be able to study from home! guess not
The strike is not entirely about the pay rise, its about imposition and the fact the Mr Jansen thinks he can decide the future of thousands of staff without proper negotiation. He believes the staff are driven by pay alone, but he should know that most staff do more than there get paid for everyday as a team and breaking moral means he loses more than he bargains for.
Handymandy... you are the idiot, those of us closer to you coal face know more than you do about the situation and if believe the IA has had little effect you carry on supporting fat cat behaviour. I can tell you the wheels are falling off and those at the top are ignoring it thinking contractors ( who by the way cause more faults than is admitted) are the robust plan for mass engineering absence
