nb-riley, I think the truth is everyone said they would have taken part in the placing because it was at a discount, but in reality many of those were not in a position to buy more. It is very easy to post on a screen but to actually pay up is a different matter.
Some of those may well have traded it immediately to make a turn on the discounted price and the time taken and invariably the extra cot would have meant the SP would have drifted down. It is quite clear the cornerstone investor took a large lump of the placing and also asked for the participants to be kept to a small few. If others were allowed in would they have covered the gap made by this cornerstone investor not taking part? I don't think so....
Not sure how you think the price would have done anything different, the placing was done with a few select 'sticky' investors, but what has happened since would have happened in any scenario, if not in a more exaggerated way as many PIs would be selling the discounted placing shares as the price dropped....
