The acquisition adds two clinical-stage programmes to Solvonis’s portfolio: AWKN-001, a Phase 3 candidate targeting severe alcohol use disorder, and AWKN-002, a novel esketamine-based treatment in development for moderate to severe cases.

Both address a condition that affects an estimated 40 million people across the US and Europe.

Solvonis said the deal underlines its ambition to develop better treatments for mental health and addiction.

Analysts say recent comparable deals in the space have commanded over £200 million valuations, pointing to significant potential upside.

CEO Anthony Tennyson said: "We are delighted by the overwhelming support from Awakn's security holders.

"Their endorsement reinforces the strategic and scientific rationale for this acquisition and sets the stage for an exciting future.

"With this transaction, we are acquiring clinical-stage assets with a significant addressable market.

"We note that PharmaVentures' recent analysis highlights the potential value with similar at assets in the substance use disorder space typically achieving an approximate aggregate of £200 million in deal payments (upfront and milestones), plus additional future material royalties."

3.5bill shares left which leaves us with 3.85 mill cash if raise is at 0.11p.

Not sure if they will apply for full7.5b issue as they say this amount would also provide ample room for future shares to be issued if warrants are executed (about 700k)

As for the takeover it would be nice and a logical move to see Johnathon Held expand his CFO role to the new enlarged group. Ps my biggest concern today has been removed.

The results of the awakn shareholders vote was that concern. Although we offered them a good deal they are giving us a hell of a lot. As for fundraising no worries. Hopefully come next year then fundraising will be at a much higher price as we become closer to cracking this market space. The size of the prize is massive and currently as a start up company valued at next to nothing future funding will come in easy if they keep on making similar strides. As the RNs has mentioned headroom. This company at this moment in time has she's loads of it.

Ps hopefully we have a herd spike this week before news.
