It was simply overpriced based on demand IMO. A fair amount of liquidating into cash will have happened during the rise waiting for the inevitable. Sorry, but the figures being posted on here, were, IMO unrealistic for where we are right now. Give it time...it will need it. I hold, sold and will be adding now that the risk/reward feels more appropriate. Still like IAG...but at the right price for the slow journey back. All IMO. Good luck all invested.

Regrettably it’s the people who think they are too important to get the virus who are just as likely to spread it as anyone else, so a strange comment IWGB. They are around, they can be spotted ignoring any guidelines in the supermarket because apparently the rules don’t apply to them. There are also some very vulnerable people who need to shield.....and some who feel it’s the only way because others don’t want to comply. It’s just not as simple as you make it out to be. I would have thought very few go out to deliberately spread it, they do so because they are unaware.

Starting to head towards more realistic pricing. I agree it’s got a bit further to go yet. Never anything wrong with banking a profit. The risk of downside had become much greater than the risk of upside at £15-£17 IMO hence why I had been taking profit.

But that does not mean demand is there yet. The hope is that it is an ‘enabler’. Do you think businesses will going ‘hooray’ let’s book up those seats again folks.? I am invested, I like IAG, I just don’t yet see some of the numbers being posted on here. It’s just my opinion. Doesn’t mean it is right or wrong.

I am invested....but what is it you think will drive this to £4. No demand side evidence yet, only supply.

'Decent stocks' - interesting wording.

Face value of ESOP awards has reduced when compared with 2019, but still represent 16% and 18% of salary.....they are just missing the words, ‘reflecting a cataclysmically poor SP performance, but hey, we are going to give them more awards anyway. Sorry remu committee, don’t get how anything could be payable looking at the SP graph over 5 years. PIs have seen a horrible reduction in their investment over 5 years but apparently awards are still due.

Yup, things rarely go up in a straight line. I guess that’s why I bank sensible profit on the way up. Will add again if I feel the risk v reward looks attractive. Right now it’s heading towards the £13s but will sit and see. GLA.

I agree part of it will be the legislation, but a large volume just either don’t particularly want to, or actually need to. There will be a slice of the travel that likely never returns post Covid. All IMO but time will tell.

Interesting view. I have heard the exact opposite for business travel for one simple reason - liability. Employers will not want the risk on their hands when so much would be deemed ‘non critical’. I am an IAG holder and have actually been mentioning the business travel risk on the IAG page. I have been asking some friends that travel a fair bit - and there is absolutely zero appetite to return to air travel in their businesses. Clearly that is not an indication for all businesses, but it’s the views I have been given.Anyway, reduced some of my travel exposure today. Did well and am not greedy.

Yup...couldn't sit on my hands! Added a few back at about $17.50. Will reduce down again if they get over $22 back to my core holding....I tend to be fairly strict on my holdings...learnt a tough lessons a few years back.

Well, I suppose this is why I always try and bank some profit on the way up. I have to say I am a little tempted to buy some back again....but also feel I hold the right number for my PF already. Hmm....this one seems to run in the opposite direction to the market.....but it was running v hot.

Missing a gain is better than suffering a big loss. Frustrating yes, but not a loss. Have to say I am surprised at £16.00. Travel stocks running ‘hot’ now so I have been reducing a little this morning. Happy to let the next enjoy.

Pimping - this is a genuine message to say I hope you are ok. if you were really on a huge short then this will have been very costly. I never like to see that happen, however much I disagree/dislike some of the language in posts. Always have to play these markets with respect as they can do this to you. Anyway, it’s a genuine message.

This is one of the 'small' oilers I like. Decent balance sheet and able to weather the storm of continued low oil prices should it happen. In some ways I am quite surprised they have not been snapped up. Be interesting to see how they get on in 2020 if prices stabilise. A decent year end cash balance and even lower production costs would make this even more appealing. GLA invested.

Congrats on that. I am certainly not 'overweight' on CCL but have some in my 'higher risk' holdings. Heavier into IAG and BP since March.I am also a huge believer in banking some profit. Means I will never be rich but hopefully the opposite applies too. I don't short because frankly the market can be very unpredictable and the losses can mount up really quickly. I also don't try and tell people that they are mad for doing the opposite to me.....it's good to be open minded IMO, but always remember your own reasons for buying/selling. I tend to disregard any heavy ramps/de-ramps. apart from the laughter factor.

The 'mood' music for the Opec meet is what is driving this IMO. Apparently there is good upfront agreement between members for once. The deals get discussed ahead of the meeting in the hope for a sensible vote on the day. Non farm has boosted further - so both playing their part.......lovely. I loaded into BP sub £3 as I kept hearing buy recommendations about BP on CNBC as a 'safer' bet. GLA and enjoy these days.

It’s all about the US non farm numbers. Way better than predicted. DOW flying.
