Nobody's and idiot here, we all have our targets and either sell or hold when that's met. My personal target was met earlier this year, it's now been revised upwards with the anticipation of selling a small holding (10% at todays prices) Q1/Q2 2025 to pay for my retirement toy when it's potentially due for delivery. Please can we not disagree without name calling

I think the consensus is read Fool and do the opposite. I use Simply wall street, mainly because it does the number crunching, fair value for RR £8.73, with flakey data for future earnings like Fool, they've been hard to guestimate over the last few years. Unless there's a world crisis RR will improve it's earnings and margins under the current management and pay down debt. In my view the negative forward view on them is flawed. I don't know if we'll reach the much hyped £7.00 by the end of Feb 2025 but I believe we'll be well on the way with August 24 and Feb 25 as stepping stone and maybe even some SMR thrown in.

Awaiting results in August I'd say as a further confirmation that it's meeting or exceeding financial targets. I'd hoped it might be tabled and voted in at the AGM to start August but it's already been stated that they'll return something to the shareholders at some point so a mute point. Whilst debts being paid down, FCF is rising as is the share price coupled with a healthy order book, we can wait.

Personally I’d love to see Divi’s voted on at the AGM with a return concurrent with final results, by which time more debt will have been paid down.

At the end of the day SMR is for the moment a decision that’s out of anyone’s hands. We’ll be awaiting a mini budget in either July / August if labour wins and September if the Tories manage a hung parliament.

If they announce an election they go straight to purdah and nothing gets signed off, as I understand it.

Reading an article on ii yesterday (sorry can’t post a link) it was saying that a decision on RR SMR was likely 4 1/2 years away, due to government dither. Did anyone else read the article of which this was a throwaway paragraph? Hopefully the AGM will provide a bit of clarity, though decisions from the government aren’t terribly likely in the drift down to electoral oblivion

In the short to medium term very good for us and Airbus. Long term I suspect China will use the IP to build / improve it's own aircraft then undercut as it does with every other industry.

Agree Robdon unless there's an update at the AGM on the 23rd re Divi's or something else. Maybe there's a sniff of Divi announcement, hence GMB sticking their necks out and believe, rightly or wrongly, that they should get their cut before the shareholders.

Through strength comes peace, bullies only pick on those they perceived weak. Defence spending should only be enough to create balance along with the perception you’ll use it if necessary. A country that has the nuclear triad and says we’ll never use it might as well not have it in the first place. RR has the technologies to enrich our lives, clean energy, travel … celebrate that and enjoy the money when it comes.

Strange that 'defence' stocks of which we are regarded as one seem to be incredibly turbulent, with gradual increases in defence spending you'd have thought it would be largely a one way street, upwards? Still £7 by feb 2025 is very possible
