Trump wins = trade deal with the UK?

Don't see much change until after the trading update and the US elections myself, any rise back towards 570 on a daily basis until then is good, next week and more of the same and I'll be disappointed.

Few people (present company accepted) understand how ungreen our modern world is. With the news that 3 mile island reactor 1 is coming back on line in 2028 to supply the needs of Microsoft AI / Datacentres in the area.

"If Three Mile Island comes back online, Microsoft will be the one benefiting, as its long-term power purchase agreement would secure it enough energy to power roughly 800,000 homes every year. Except in this case, it’ll be used to help run the company’s data center infrastructure in the region". That quote from the larger article (below) is a reason why we need to get 'our' SMR's online in the UK PDQ. We in the UK currently have circa 500 data centres from tier 1-4 in the UK that require high availability / redundancy.

At least we've staged a good partial recovery after 'the budget', still a way to go to get back to the 570 high. The 7th had better be a good update! I've a quite large outgoing in December (was meant to be late feb after results) which means I'm dipping into some that lovely profit a bit early, still nice xmas present.

SMR isn't going to be in with a chance on those timescales, especially with the sloth like speed of the uncivil service and the current administrations seeming dislike for nuclear. EDF will be happy to begin the decom of those older sites knowing that we will have to pay them for interconnect capacity when we're short and the normal clouds are covering the fields and no wind is blowing.

Rolls Royce needs to delist from the FTSE and trade exclusively on the NYSE. That would send a clear signal to this government that it FTSE star regards this country as closed for business and that investment is best served outside of this government’s jurisdiction.

Time to move to the NYSE entirely

If I were in Tuffies position, no UK government commitment on SMR I'd be looking to move to the NYSE and let that fact be known. For RR to move to drop the FTSE would send huge shock waves

Damo - IMHO the effects on global chip production would be akin to the effects of Covid, hence the US investing to a degree in some home production, something we / europe should also be doing.

My personal view is that this share would fly on the NYSE, the UK isn’t open for business. We should be doing an Eire and reducing Corp Tax and encouraging investors. Unfortunately we’ve got years of going the wrong way ahead.

Lets be honest the hugely negative sentiment around the leaked attack on anyone with money around this budget any anyone that can be shafted, coupled with the lack of news around UK investment in SMR this was always likely, we'll see a bounce, whether it's further down or back up is another matter. Just have to hold onto the fact that we've invested in a business with lots of plus. My personal concern is Taiwan and it kicking off there, now that would be a real sell sign for me.

If we get within 5% of NTC £7 on 08/02 personally I’d consider that a huge win.
