RE: LDI Exposure5 Oct 2022 20:32
I sliced mng, Phnx and Lgen into the early rise today ready to recycle and work my average.
I topped up at DEC sub 130 last week it’s my second largest holding. I have posted some data over there in the past. It’s a good income play imo.
As for Truss, I have lost faith in all of them. Of course I will vote. Have voted for every colour in the past but there isn’t one party with an agenda I can align to.
Tax buffers should start at 16k before anyone pays a penny. That’s fair all round and incentivises employment. You then have a tax staircase up to 45p. It’s been costed by the conservative woman website.
I would have also used a large percentage of qe to by divi paying equities instead of just feeding gilts. That way the company would have a tangible sovereign wealth fund with an income for generations to come. And arms length so govt don’t fk things up like nationalised industry.
As for regulation it’s a joke it should be meaningful and target investment rather than just the inevitable breaches that companies get away with by paying small fines especially water. If you have investment targets and not just fines that is proactive and mitigates fines.
Borrowing should wherever possible be for capex, investment not paying bills. Taxes (income) only should be used to pay your bills.
Immigration, defence, education, health investment linked to future demographics. People that can afford it should get tax relief for going private to help reduce burden on health service. Encourage private sector and have a partnership. The health service is dying it needs to work smarter. Also have cancer screening tests in peoples 50’s then 40’s. They can pick up cancers now up to 4 years in advance from bloods but no joined up plans.
Kids in school should see a great public sector and aspire to being employed as nurses, teachers, doctors, police/armed services when they leave school because they are great careers and not YouTubers! Then you know you have it right!
I could go on but there is only so much space…
I guess I am an idealist but the sad thing is it’s all achievable. If we had a party that could look beyond the next election and politicians interested in the country rather than self….oh and on that note. Pay them all £250k, I don’t care but that should be their only salary no other sidelines. No conflicts of interest. It should be a privilege to serve as an MP and not a method to making millions!
I don’t see any common sense in any of them atm and to be fair Borris with his elitism, cronyism and absolute disgusting behaviours has sent our politics to all time lows when he was presented with an open goal and virtually a blank cheque from the city but hubris got the better of him!
Usual caveats
