It’s one of the reasons CHAR are developing and selling portable solar energy projects for mines. I think it could take off albeit it’s mostly Africa atm. Mind you the solar is a sideshow to the gas development which is why I invested. I only have a few though and added at 15.5p recently but don’t bother posting there as it’s a happy little tuckaway imo.

I was a bit concerned early doors as I couldn’t get a quote on ii to sell anything over 100k. Now they will take 8m off me in one hit!

So whilst there are sellers there is also a buyer out there. If you want to fill an order you drop the price with smaller sells to spook folk then you can order fill.

Of course though I am being realistic the SP has nonetheless been on a downtrend. Even with a 10% buyer of stock. The market hasn’t credited us with anything and it won’t until the BoD convince the market that either the gold sold is financing ops 100% or they have a non dilutive option ahead.

As the sp didn’t break back into the 7’s as I and many expected it is now in danger of visiting the 5’s for any big sells. The longer news is pending imo the less impactful it will be on the SP. So RM would be better communicating what he seems so jolly about sooner rather than later!

Must say I don’t know what to make of that director buy…

1. We have had a poor RNS insofar as lacking substance and transparency
2. The director buying should have the same poor info as us so it doesn’t make sense
3. He has better info than us, obviously, so why haven’t we been told
4. It’s a signal to us poor old PI’s that the sp has overreacted to news.

I was pleased we had the lot in one RNS rather than a it’s a ‘safety tested scenario’ more to come. It’s done now move on.

Well it looks like the market has smelt some antipathy in the remuneration space. The RNS is objectively open to interpretation but at least Ms Little seems to be doing a handover and has said she will remain a shareholder!

There’s never a good way to inform of these changes. Let’s hope it’s a buying opportunity and Stifel get to mop up some cheap stock!

That’ll be an indication at least of some buy back benefit!

I don’t think the Canadian BH would delay an RNS as their is a time delay anyway. If I was being unkind I’d say someone is taking the pss!

But there must be some valid reason and the longer it takes the more concerned we/the market become over the ‘valid reason’.

No one is doing themselves any favours here especially T&T and I am wondering if I am being taken for a fool as well!

All valid arguments. The EPS enhancement is axiomatic but remember one of the key reasons for the buy back is to take advantage of the dollar strength. With a 20% fx tailwind it makes sense to burn some gbp stock.

As for whether that enhances the future divi or stock performance remains to be seen.

Likewise as I originally posted I would prefer an acquisition but currently the best value on the market is DEC.

Having risen from 128 to 135 it’s not clear if that is the buyback or sentiment but I am more than happy if Stifel by using technical buying are able to support the sp at 135 or even push it higher using a buyback.

If that sees us through this difficult macro period I think that will be a great result!
