Piled in here today as soon as I saw the US Oct inflation numbers. Was v lucky as was on terminal and already hold a position here much lower having sold and rebought back into profit thanks to the the LDI fiasco!

This turnaround is looking like an LDI reversal. 190 just happens to be my target as well to top slice.

May have to go for 189.99999 now…lol!

I have clocked the risers today on my selected stocks as imo this run will likely spill into Monday. Some nice surprises in the mix with further to go like SAFE, CBG and likely CMX with results due. Also likes of BME down on results is one to watch to time a bounce!

But MNG at this level with one’s backside covered by a 10% yield and no news due until full year results in March is a really good play - Putin and black swans aside obviously!

Loving the vix on the FTSE. It’s like trading AIM but with ease due to liquidity!

You really don’t get that many opportunities on high mcap stocks to trade so well due to the volatility as we have endured the last year. It’s been amazing!

Gotta have a plan though!

Well I was a lucky boy, got back from my golf. Won my match by not playing as badly as my mate in the wind and the rain of Dartmoor! Only just! But back in time to catch the US inflation numbers!

Sold rest of VOD and made a few other flips and piled into MNG adding to my holdings there. Boring I know. Good profit already though and **** is covered by +10% yield which I think will be payed.

New CEO re-structuring Co to cope with vix, revamp Asian set up and buyback completed. Will benefit when folk start investing in markets again, inflows are increasing. Also new divi policy.

And of course I will take profits on way and not risk all in for results/TU!

Also added a lot of PAY on dips over last few days!

Sooo many opportunities in this market!

My point was if we relist before the finance RNS shares could tank. Well I just noticed we have resisted and there is no RNS but the SP has held up.

So shares trading without knowing what the issue was. I guess at least it’s sorted

But even when they get an opportunity to restore credibility it seems they balls it up!

That’s my unbiased view nagging me!

It’s the VOD spin-off.

I sold most of my VOD today. Muted response from market. The VTO JV was supposed to provide much needed deleveraging finance but it’s looking like another quagmire. A JV with VOD and KKR + waiting on decisions of minority holders means it’s another wait. Then the regulatory stuff which to be fair was a known.

Finance terms are very good at 26x Ebitda but it’s the structure. Imo market was looking for a clean break. Hence muted sp reaction.

Results next week will also likely disappoint. Uk carried Europe and Esp Germany at FY but since then UK has lacked economic growth and also competition in Africa is seeing VOD loose subscribers.

I don’t see a divi increase as doing a buy back atm to offset MCB.

The VTO deal was supposed to be the SP catalyst. If that’s flopped it’s more pressure on results. They could go to 110 for sure or to 90p or do sd all! But either way money is better on sidelines now else risking a value trap!

I made 6% on ones I sold. Will be out before Friday with rest!

Nonetheless it’s trading at a huge discount. I didn’t buy due to costs but it does look a worthwhile quarterly income investment esp at its 61p SP.

I am very surprised at the muted reaction to this. On paper, whilst I appreciate its not fully concluded, this looks like a good deal for VOD and at a considerable premium ‘in line’ with other strategic infrastructure partnership deals. So if it’s not the financial terms, as ‘in line’ that have resulted in a muted response then perhaps it’s because it’s a JV and not a clean break.

The share price reacted positively to a previous hint of IPO so one is wondering if it is just too slow and the in built uncertainty regarding the take up of minority VTO holders. Regulatory process is a known unknown. Or perhaps it’s the new BoD appointments! Lol!

It does seem odd. I was expecting this news with the results.

As for the results I am not expecting much given that at the July update it was the UK that supported the disappointing European results, especially Germany.

Fast forward to now and I think it will probably be disappointing results in Europe and UK plus higher churn in Africa!

My reasoning for buying here was that with the forward looking market those results are expected with a neutral response and they should be in the share price. The VTO deal was to be the catalyst for a rerate.

I don’t see an increase in divi just yet (famous last words) as we have the buyback to offset the MCB. I agree with other posters here about deleveraging in preference.

Following todays response it’s really going to be a tougher call now gauging the market reaction on results day. I just don’t see anything lighting the SP up just yet.

Hence I have reduced taking a 6% profit on those shares and have cash to cover my position. If it booms 5% all well and good if not I have options.

It’s not this RNS that’s important it’s the finance one. We all know we are fkd without the next lot of financing and RM says non dilutive…… it’s a question of trust.

I have just looked at their Annual report and it’s there clearly, page 3 that all costs for rental etc are covered. Sorry it won’t allow cut and paste.

That’s different from close relatives of mine that have reduced rental payments as part of their scheme’s . Hence my sloppy research!

We will likely get two RNS’s on ‘shows’ in November….
