This announcement does not mean a deal is not imminent, you do not hold back such major decisions just because a deal may or may not be done, you have to moved forward on the basis of business as normal otherwise you leave yourself even more exposed if any deal falls through.
This is all positive as far as I am concerned albeit we all want to see positive data coming out of the trail !!!!!
Hi Shareguard, that is a very interesting observation, which might also explain the lack of buying interest from big pharm....they want to buy a products in general which they can see a pipeline from, buying a platform is a bit different and often different means they do not understand and therefore is not what they look for when making acquisitions.
I agree until I see it in black or white I assume nothing. As said before Scancell now have to start to deliver on the promise of what their technology breakthroughs suggest if not they will soon be passed buy.....There are many clever people in this world, far cleverer than myself, but enough people in the industry know about Scancell and what they potentially have...so my only question is...if it is so good, so amazing why have they not been bought already?????
This is not a criticism but an observation, just get tired of the hype and people desperately searching for clues....we will know when we need to be told, till then its all hot air!
As a long term investor this has been said many times before...the potential, the potential, the potential...what we need are results and for results we need progress on trials etc etc........ and to know what is going on we need news.
So come on Scancell lets have some proper progress news, lets have trails approved, people signed up and results, lets see if you can turn your cash into action.
And if its part of there plan its business as usual so never going to be reported.
To be honest I would much rather see an RNS about some actual progress in line with what they have set out....seen too many Scancell slips in delivery times in the past. Almost six months through the year and still nothing of any value being announced.....ever hopeful!
Totally agree, it is no good being ahead of the game regarding ideas and solutions if you can't get convert in a timely fashion, otherwise the ideas are just wasted, Scancell seems to have an issue with conversion and this I believe is why fundamentally we keep being left on the shelf when it comes to deals.
Well the proactive investor interview will have helped a lot of investors realise that there is not going to be any quick gains to be had. Trails starting first half on all fronts so no massive news events likely for the rest of this year....drift and top up time....
https://www.southampton.ac.uk/news/2021/01/covid-antibody-therapies-agile-ctu.page
there are going to be so many trails for covid going on most of which will be driven forward by deep pockets, the kind scancell does not have, so I hope all the covid noise does not distract from what Scancell should be finally delivering on in respect of the trials this year for cancer treatments.
As we move into 2021 Scancell BOD have this year to finally start to deliver on trials and results whether a Covid solution is in that as well who knows....just waiting for all the hype and noise to abate and the focus to be on Scancell actually delivering something that adds value to the company and therefore the share price.
Its okay keep saying the the science will see us through...Yawn...but the science will be hard to shout about if the BOD do not deliver what is required to prove it.
Roll on 2021 a tough Q1 but hopefully some light at the end of the tunnel....lets hope the BOD also see this light with some tangible results and developments.
I wonder just how many other companies there are we do not know about that are on the verge of similar solutions...not trying to be negative but at the same time we have seen all this hype before several years ago and we are where we still are now a little minnow in a very big pond with little pockets.
I hope while this is all great stuff that we don't find out in months to come that the company has taken its eye off the ball regarding the other trials etc etc and current pipeline of opportunities that existed prior to this!
I personally believe that most of the price swings are all regarding the potential covid vaccine. So currently it looks like our consortium are about a month behind the competition...I know we have all manor of other things in the pipeline but most investors are looking for short term gain not long term.....so in the short term this will either go stupidly up because of the good data coming through in the next few weeks or it will go down stupidly as a result of it not being so great and the competition grabbing market share....so has for resistance bands and other technical investment/share price stuff...it will all come down to sentiment and the heard mentality not heard resistance :-)
I have held shares in Scancell for 7 years. During this time many an occasion have I heard the science will see us through etc etc....however this is no longer about the science this about being in a commercial war, who gets there vaccines out first, who gets there trials done first, who has the big bucks to be able to fund things properly and progress things quickly because they can throw resource at it.
I like Scancell, I like the science (still don't understand it all but don't need to), my concern is not the science its that Scancell have dithered about for to long as a result of being a very small fish in the ocean and will get wash away as others with a bigger budget and resource will end up moving in front of them....it sometimes the case that no matter how good your science is, if you have someone else with a lot of money shouting from the rooftops and getting their products to market first you still lose.
Scancell please please do what you have been going on about for two years...trails more trails and results that lead to a product being sold...if not you will just get washed ashore!
My Shares are held through Halifax sharedealing...nothing online but spoke to them and you just have to phone them and tell them what you want to do and they will register your instructions with Scancell.
Easy enough apart from the 10 minute call wait!
Sorry! am I to understand that due to a good be of research from others we find out more of what is going on in Scancell through the back door than Scancell can be bothered to tell us themselves!
Apologies if I have wrong end of the stick but if so....come on Scancell that is fairly useful information for shareholders...shame on you!
I don't believe Ricfle in this instance you are correct, I will explain my reasoning:
Hurricane Energy has already made it clear in its interviews that apart from everything going on with the current discoveries it is also looking at other future opportunities, this would if Hurricane is sold lock stock and barrel (pardon the pun), mean all of its ongoing opportunities would be sold as well. In such an instance the main board are likely to be locked in for some period of time as well before just leaving to set up something else.
Therefore unless Hurricane Energy sets up a holding company in the meantime, transfers all share to the Top Company and all future prospects excluding the current discoveries there is no other way Dr T is likely to be able to just set up again in five minutes.
IMO If I was doing the Due Diligence on this and was going to buy everything, that means everything including Dr T's expertise in is ability to find further future resources.
The way I see this going is Hurricane Selling its current assets in full or in part with different milestones or ongoing percentage of operations of sites, paying a HOPEFULLY rather large dividend to its shareholders and then keeping an appropriate amount of funds in the bank to pay for future prospecting etc.
Just my thoughts - there are so many potential permutations hear its not true. But I would stick with the premise that if HUR is sold in its complete entirety Dr T will either not be going anywhere else soon or he will have one hell of an anti compete clause.
