I'm in no way endorsing anyone buy, just sharing with you guys my latest punts.

This latest fudge and fumble by the government, whilst irritating and exacerbating to current holders, it may give some who, like me, are currently out a possible chance to get back in at a reasonably lower entry than 2.10. it certainly may not be the last chance running up to mid May and beyond, but to my mind the almost daily and weekly swing trades will become less and less likely. And if I can get a substantial foothold at a temporary market reaction retraction price this coming week then for me my 'trading' of IAG will return to investing instead.
On a side note, I bought into CINE (soon to reopen it's doors) and PTF (a punt based on it scraping through its current SFO investigation) last week, again as LTH as my strategies are starting to change.
Monday is going to be interesting for all of us. And whatever your strategy or focus I wish ALL of you luck as always.
We all know this is going North as soon as direction and clarity (and cajones) are finally shown by the Government.
I fully share Big-Blues anger and frustration at the dithering and un joined up thinking. Not because I personally want a holiday but the actual damage being done to the sector as a whole.
@SHAPERITE
' I suppose they would prefer to fly in an aircraft powered by a Pratt & Whitney engine that catches fire occasionally!!!!!!'
This seems a poor comment to make to get across your point.
I'm sure if you speak to a few QANTAS A380 pilots you might discover a RR Trent 900 engine uncontained failure.
I have no problem with the rest of your post and wish all holders here good luck and a return on their investment.
Good morning and welcome to the IAG BB.
I read your post with interest. For such a relatively short first post here, it actually contains a lot of info.
I'm NOT here to offer you any advice on your investment, I'm not qualified to do so and it's not my place to influence anyone how they choose to invest their hard earned cash.
Instead I'll share my own experience of trading, specifically IAG, as I was in a similar position post the RI.
Firstly you say your young with a long time horizon. This is great news. Investing now to secure a bright future whilst young shows admirable foresight and a willingness to understand risk and return.
I think the best early share tip I took on board was that a loss is only ever a paper loss UNLESS you sell.
I don't know your current AV but if you've been holding all this time, you've held on from the high 80s (post RI) through to now when most of us here believe this is going North.
The money you have invested here, do you desperately need the capitol elsewhere?
I was in the red for months after the RI then watched as lockdown after lockdown battered my investments. But I never sold my holdings for a loss. I sat it out and it came good.
You mention IAG not becoming profitable for maybe 3 to 5 years. Indeed, that might be the case, however, to my mind that is not influencing the SP at all. Currently, IAG is a sentiment based stock in my opinion.
I also believe that as we now head out of lockdown, the possibility of air travel and holidays coming through, mooted air corridors and a much leaner IAG make this one of the most exciting stocks to hold.
Looking over your posts it seems you have a diverse portfolio, again, for a young person this is great news. Having eggs in different baskets spreads your risk but also hopefully your long term returns.
Lastly, everyone of us here has a short term punt that became a long term hold. Also, we have all at some point lost money, myself included. But I learnt from my initial mistakes and over time have settled into an investing style that suits my pocket, my acceptance of risk and finally, that if I lost every penny tomorrow, whilst gutting, wouldn't have a dramatic outcome on my life.
From day 1 I've only invested an amount I'd be able to accept the loss of.
Whatever you decide, I wish you well. Good luck to you.
Good for you
It's all about putting a profit in your pocket.
Then reinvesting said profit.

A great start for all holders.
Genuinely pleased for all the guys here.
I'll of course let you know when I jump back in.

@sunsurfer
Good morning buddy. Hope your well and my thoughts exactly as I'm currently out and have dry powder.
GLA
Morning all. I think that's a fair point Linkop.
As you know, I sold my entire IAG holding for a profit on Thursday.
(For others here, Linkop and I chat regularly on the IAG BB)
After the much hyped yet non update announcement yesterday I'd imagine a retrace in airline stocks today. Great as I have dry powder and would want a lower entry price.
I now only hold CINE with an AV of £1.
Will top up here also if there is a drop though I fully expect a steady rise now.
GLA
@uptheladder
Agreed. There is no way this will rise by 41p tomorrow to 2.50
Like B-B, I'll pick apart the full details of today's announcement, then watch closely the share movements early doors tomorrow then decide when to jump back in.
I'm very positive about IAG and travel will restart without doubt. I'll just wait to see how the market reacts.
GLA
@Rock
You couldn't have sold out on Friday as the stock market was closed.
I sold my entire holding on Thursday with a nice profit. So plenty of dry powder for tomorrow. I'm not p****d off at all. Great opportunity to get back in.
GLA
@Fairy1
That's very kind of you. And a very Happy Easter to you and yours.
I shall be spending most of it in a tractor down on the farm with Radio 2 playing in the cab. Living the Easter dream.
That's very true B-B.
I'm beginning to realise that these sophisticated traders do indeed have an unfair advantage over us 'muggle' investors as clearly they trade on the 'unseen Hogwarts' market that unfairly trades solely when the FTSE is closed and to which we have no access sadly.
Hence, as you point out, having no clue what day or date Monday is has no impact on their ability to make hay even when the sun doesn't shine. A term I think in those Stella investor ranks is called 'Pulling a Hagrid'
Ahhhhh y11
If only the market was open on Monday eh?
Good luck with that good trading opportunity.
Looks like you've nailed the market after excellent research.
Had set a limit sell of 209.
Been painting and decorating all day and noticed it went through.
Still some wind in her Sails into closing bell but10p range in one day, very happy with that.
Only holding CINE now and will await Tuesdays opening with interest and dry powder.
Good luck as always to ALL holders and a very Happy Easter to everyone.
@Bonkers
Thank you.
I have to say that in my 'lurk mode' your posts have been my absolute favourite.
Funny, fair, (sometimes) frivolous and always steering a sometimes rudderless ship.
I wish you well with all your investments.
@Link
Good to see you too buddy.
I'm only currently invested here and IAG too.
Great minds eh? :-)
@Ollie
Thank you. And the very best of luck to you too with your investment.
Good evening all.
Forgive the thread tag line, but after buying back into CINE today after a long absence, I was going through my share history and that was the price I paid for my first dabble in this stock. Seems a lifetime ago.
After sitting on my hands, reading many posts here in a 'lurk mode' over time, I'm back in today with an AV of £1.
I'm usually to be found on the IAG forum, chatting with fellow investors there and sharing thoughts and personal strategies. Some with success and often not.
I'm not going to bang on about fundamentals or debt or opening times or film releases, others here far far more qualified than me know their onions (and biscuits I've noticed) so would seem idiotic to bang their drum.
So why did I dip my toes today? I'm not looking to day trade here nor look for a quick buck. I've used that strategy well with the volatility of sentiment led IAG investing.
Nope, it's quite simply this -
Every single person I know WANTS to go to the flicks. Myself included. To lose ourselves out of this Covid misery for an hour or two. To collectively share the enjoyment of a night out. Whatever your genre of movie pleasure. To laugh, cry and gasp (a quick perusal of my bank statement could give you those emotions - but that's another story) with others, then go to the pub. Or a takeaway. These were the normals BEFORE the new normal.
Please don't think me sentimental, I'm here to make money, a return on my investment. CINE has its opening dates and roadmap for opening its screens.
I'd pay (and have paid) a quid for that.
GLA and enjoy this weekend with your fam and friends.
That said,
And as always, the very best of luck to you Robby.
Oh and welcome home
@Dagger
'My way might not suit other's and vice versa. As long as we all turn a coin it doesn't matter.'
Exactly, couldn't put it better myself. I wish everyone luck wherever or however they are invested.
And your right, a wonderful day and my best wishes to all who can finally see their fam and mates.
