Well, if experience has taught me anything, it’s that nothing happens quickly at Solg and never get your hopes up. I expect some obfuscation and delay RNS on Monday, mentioning some sort of timeline for a succession plan. There’s a way to go yet. I do hope for a short term SP boost though.

Monte.... I’ll have a stab at your questions.....
The Reuter’s report suggests that they were trying to repair relations following the AGM which saw 45% of shareholders vote against his reappointment.
There is no reason to suggest a diverse book is at risk here, for less than a reasonable offer.
The board are doing this because it is in the best interests of shareholders following AGM. Status quo was untenable.

Knowing how the MMs like to operate, I think down first hour as a tree shake. Then up.

All true Bozi, but the fact remains shareholders should not automatically sell and invest elsewhere when they disagree or no longer support management.

Quady, the highest the share price got in the 12 months prior to takeover was 10p then? And there were numerous dilutions along the way. That’s just not the case here. BHP and Newcrest combined are not in a position to issue shares. They don’t control the company. Your own diverse book argument defeats that surely?

Bozi, Newcrest did support management and had a man on the board until strategy changed. They are not going to just sell up in the huff at less than fair value as a result. I invested in an exploration company and supported management until they moved the goalposts to try to become a major. I too am not going to sell up in the huff at less than fair value.

Well one thing is for sure, Monday should be interesting. Given that this share has been as dull as dishwater for years, that alone is a pleasant change. Could go either way, but for those suggesting 30p takeout, remember the diverse book lol! Anyone accumulating in order to bid will have to offer at least the max price paid during that accumulation. Quady, I’m not aware of what happened at Fortune, but couldn’t follow your post in that regard. What did you mean by the SP never reached the market cap?!? Surely that’s a bit of a paradox?

Mixed feelings about this, and fascinated to see how market reacts Monday. Something had to give though. Languished for too long, with time ticking on licenses. All assuming veracity of story.

Master... I’m not, and never have been, a trader. I may be misreading your posts (short, quickly typed posts on chat boards can sometimes come across differently than intended) but you seem to equate investing in the stock market with reading tea leaves. You further seem to suggest that one should invest based on what someone called Alan Duff says? Even better.... that advancing years is somehow a negative when it comes to investing? Hmmm. Not sure I’d agree with any of that, but then again, I’m just a decrepit old fool. Perhaps I should sell the remaining 80% of my holding before I get myself into financial difficulty. It’s time for bed.

Full disclosure, sold 20% of my holding here at 16p this morning. Derisks, profit is profit, etc. etc. Still hoping for a good run for the remainder, but as I’d posted earlier, was beginning to feel a bit over exposed here, so am comfortable with decision. So it should rocket now... !! GLA.

Quady....I never said it couldn’t be done. My point.... which I thought was clear, but obviously not..... was that there is a plethora of companies with the requisite skills and experience to translate a technical document from English into French. The pool of expertise for large scale civil engineering projects in Ecuador is smaller.

Quady... so you can easily, and readily, find the limited engineering and mining skills necessary to design and build a large block cave mine in a country which has never done it before......
But the skills necessary to translate a technical document from English to French have eluded us for over a year?

Crew time.... trying to keep the spirit of the board mannerly.... you think this may drop further this afternoon. Fair enough, but genuine question..... so what? What was the purpose of your post? All shares move up and down in value. Do you believe any of the fundamentals have changed? In the absence of news, I can’t for the life of me work out what the rationale behind your post was. Can you enlighten me? Thanks!

Thanks Barnard.... my own view is that AD might be seeing bogeymen where there are none. Given how far and how well the SP has risen recently, many holders were going to take profits. Fair play to them. As I posted on here, I was debating whether or not to topslice myself. That does not make them shorters, far from it. The last thing we need here - or on any share - is a concentrated short attack. He should perhaps be a bit more circumspect with his tweets, he is more likely to put potential investors off, and damage the SP if he keeps that up. GL to you too.
