Miavoce this retweeting is odd but shows that the concept of a 'Universal Vaccine' for Covid remains the target of CEPI's ambitions and well done them ! Certainly it would be handy !

2nd generation ambitions were mentioned in Curevac's bad news piece yesterday but even in harness with GSK, do they have the science to get it done ? Quoting their hopes to trial in 2022 they may be some way behind Scancell.

CureVac's 1st generation vaccine candidate disappoints - falling short of it's 50% target. Snips from this Reuters report in 'Nature' :-

"June 16 (Reuters) - German biotech CureVac NV (5CV.DE) said on Wednesday its COVID-19 vaccine was only 47% effective in a late-stage trial, missing the study’s main goal and throwing in doubt the potential delivery of hundreds of millions of doses to the European Union. The disappointing efficacy of the shot known as CVnCoV emerged from an interim analysis based on 134 COVID-19 cases in the study with about 40,000 volunteers in Europe and Latin America" . . . .
