That's right Ray. When the 'if we don't reopen now when can we ?' argument is put forward, surely the answer is 'when we have evident control over the virus and the number of cases'. The hazards ? - the risk of new variants, more cases, more deaths, more long Covid and let's not forget, young people and children are vulnerable too.

Relying on Folks exerting 'personal responsibility' - you must be joking BJ ! The spectacle in the streets, pubs, stadiums and the abuses on social media these last weeks has been depressing indeed. We have Laws on almost every aspect of personal behaviour to moderate and rebuke - why the hell is the Covid pandemic different ?

BJ has somehow conspired, in a miasma of bizarre policies and incompetence, to ensure that, despite the amazing efforts on vaccines, we still have a Covid crisis and one fears, there's a long way to go yet. It's a tragedy. IMO. GLA

Ruck. Excellent post IMO. Particularly, 'consistency needs to be applied' and 'in the absence of irrefutable evidence to the contrary, it is only good etiquette to accept peoples word'. I'd go further and say I don't see how the BB can function well without that basic spirit of 'acceptance'.

RW - I'm sorry to differ, but looking through the recent mentions of previous posters now 'missing', I'm not sure that this observation is correct - 'the majority of whom having been removed for abuse' - for me it's just a few have suffered that fate for that reason ?

Moving on, re. GF123, some have tried to take him to task but I don't recognise this portrayal - i.e. 'vicious and sustained vitriol' at all. Unpleasant maybe and relentless perhaps. Whilst I have questioned GF myself on occasions, it has always been polite on both sides.

Re. Inanaco, yes his grip on the science has benefited us all on both BB's as I very often acknowledge but for all his virtues, he loves a long scrap and he does it for fun. I don't think there was a 'deeply unpleasant reaction to Inanaco's steadfast analysis' at all. The 'steadfast analysis' was IMO very widely appreciated and there was IMO no 'deeply unpleasant' reaction to it. There was other stuff going on, to say the least.

As for 'team damp' I'm not sure that ever existed - but you are right, there's less gloom now on this BB. But thanks for the review - interesting indeed.

LLass , C11 & Chester. I left Hospital after Covid infection on June 14th - since then I have done 3 LF tests and thankfully they have all been clear negatives. I will be doing another before a PCR on Friday.

The exertion of the tests is uncomfortable BUT IMO it's a lot easier doing it yourself quietly in front of a mirror (to watch the throat access). The nose access is uncomfortable however the NHS instructions say access just 2.5 cm in, which is not difficult.

I'd guess that the manner/thoroughness in doing the test for both PCR and LF is critical. On successive days earlier I had PCR tests at different Hospitals. The first was a brief touch on the throat followed by a very long very brief thrust deep into the nostril - result positive. The second, much more touch in the throat and searching twists in the nostril - result negative. Beats me ! The 2nd more thorough test found no Covid trace . . .

Chester I found some encouragement from this - "The LFT is a guide only and not definitive. I would say if a person did three tests and they are all negative then that would be 99% correct."

Reflecting as I write, it occurs to me that the nurses taking my PCR tests were a bit nervous, (as was I), approaching the ancient Foreigner that I am ! The thoroughness of the sample taking is absolutely critical and if you are doing it yourself, you can ensure the test is done up to spec ! Have a good rummage around LOL

BTW those NHS LF packs are brilliant IMO. Thanks for airing the subject - it's helped me.

I'm not a particular fan of Dr John Campbell but he has a bee in his bonnet - he wonders again if the clotting problems with AZ/Oxford and the J&J vaccines, is due to inadvertent injection into a blood vessel instead of into the muscle tissue.

Aspiration, being a short pull back after reaching the point for discharge of the injection to check no blood appears, avoids this difficulty.
