Well jake nobody knows at present but I think you are wrong. As you say with Smart Comms being the most important part of Smart Meters then all this should have been sorted at beginning. However is was not because none of the officials knew what they were dealing with. Contracts were handed out ad hoc and then the faults appeared. In the meantime CC refined its product to include Cellular and so can now deal with all meters, which is what the Indian Government is looking for. It did not happen before but it is now. INDORE being the prime focus.

I think you two have weighed it correctly. You remember when Colour was saying villages only needed a lightbulb and Gov gave I think 5m unit of contracts to MM's who had never made meters before.
Well that's all finished and they have decided they need a good Smart Comms provider from meter to HES and it appears via INDORE they have what they are looking for, so I suspect Colour (possibly tongue in cheek) that just may be you are right and CC may get a whopping great chunk of India Comms market. If they got 50% that could be £2bn.
Now do not get excited Colour suggested it could be whole market. You have to think big but look at ARM, there I said it Colour. DYOR

You are right there jake.. The problem is no one party is in charge, some States are subject to central control whilst others are local parliaments, too many areas for abuse.
Having said that all groups are eager for their energy Utilities to make money or at least to break even. Mysore and then INDORE have been seen to work and that is all the Utilities require. If CC can manage all of the Comms including Head End then it leaves MM's and Utilities free to do their own thing.
Hopeful of a good outcome for CC.

You do not talk at all about INDORE or JVVNL, is that because they are successful.

Colour you are loosing it, you are coming out with rubbish, something that is nearly a year old is not current unless Itron have not improved much upon that with their installations.
The last meaningful CC update was the video which came long after your 116k and said CC was in talks with PEA.
Lastly you do not really know what is going on in UK (usual smokescreen when no answers), UK RF was supply only for places the others could not reach.
CC could do very well in Thailand, it will all be told in next few months. I am still looking for 40p near term.
As CC have partnered with Itron in the past it could be that Silver Springs is not suitable on this occasion and CC are going to supply Comms for PEA. All guesswork but fits in with giving PEA figures for budget.

Nice one Colour, surely there is a later update for PEA than May last year. That 116k must be old hat. May be you can find a CURRENT update, I suppose would be double the 116k.
I think you are wrong about 'notspots' for PEA. I do believe that INDORE is solely RF and under CC lead, I think also that MEA is solely RF, may be wrong there, so we are looking at 2 very successful installations at hopefully reasonable prices. Itron is a big boy so can he compete, we will see.
RF is more the thing of the future for Smart, forget 'notspots'.

In the meantime do try to answer the 116k question, is May21 the latest information you have on PEA Thailand.
If so CC's talks with them is far later than that, their budget is due shortly.
What is your opinion do CC stand a good chance of supplying to PEA, if so a very big earner.

Interesting Pedro mentions Itron, may be Siler Springs is not so clever outside of USA, then again may be CC could provide a cheaper and more effecient result for them in PEA arena.
JC always says one minute they are opposition next time partners.

Well Colour you have not explained Thailand, you said it was a current report but it is not, it is May 2021, nearly a year ago. Have not explained why you are saying 116,000 units is current.
You have a selective memory, remember when CC were on a North India tender which won but by the time contracts were issued a Chinese company got the sub contract and then lost it due to India sanctions.
Perhaps LTI could help with details, I think I am correct.

Just for once Colour put your thinking cap on.
Contracts in these countries never run to time. Don't worry about thought as we didn't do it did we. Remember when we lost that North India contract to China then China lost it because of sanctions. Nothing is straight forward.
Final chance to answer on Thailand on should I assume you got that wrong as well.
Do buy some CC I feel we are about to rise shortly again.

Think on Colour, if we had proceeded in Ukraine we could have done the job and possibly not got paid with the change regime and consequent current situation. What would you have been saying then, 'oh never mind', I think not.
Get back to Thailand, your 116k report what date did you put on it when you say current, May 2021, and then it was only small numbers.
My reckoning of Thailand is two Authorities:
MEA (approx 4m customers) where we came out head and shoulders above opposition for Smart Comms and got the first small contract which was then extended upon. MEA were going to review in 4Q21, so we await update.
PEA (20m+ customers), Itron was engaged and I think then bought Silver Springs (Comms). Looks like installations were slow, JC mentions in talks with PEA and supplying them with figures for their 2022 budget. Why would they do that if happy with existing installations which would take 20 years by their calculations.
So in summary I feel CC likely to get remaining 4m unit MEA orders if all goes well, PEA (20m+ units) looking on and we could get 50% (10m) if they are happy.

Actually Colour you are being proved wrong frequently. Pleased we did not get further with Ukraine, could have been really costly.
When CC get orders of 200,000 you say peanuts yet Itron achieve 116,000 over long period and you highlight it.

JC/Heather video (time 11:55 onwards) covers Thailand and others and says in talks for Thailand's 2022 budget. JC said that, long after your 116k article, this tells me all is not well at PEA and they are closely watching MEA's success rate, the meters being produced in Thailand (Forth) via a main distributor (JST) and using CC security and know-how.
I should also imagine cost and speed of installation comes into it.

Hello again Pedro.. Colour seems to ignore what JC said recently that he was talking to PEA. That suggests to me that all is not well in the Itron camp. Some years ago they bought a Smart company and in last couple of years bought Silver Spring. So I think did not have much knowledge of Smart Comms, who knows may not be as Smart as the article suggests. Taking JC's comment as truth and not a fib I should think PEA may be looking for a replacement especially if they want get all 20m units installed in a logical time frame.

Hello Colour, yes just read it, like everything else its what you read into it. If CC writes something its rubbish, with somebody else its glorified. Not exactly getting carried away suggesting 1m units a year, that's 20 years you would say if CC.

You never know Colour, India may be getting itself organised. There is a fair chance that when the results of contracts are announced that the major manufacturers will get a good slice and if CC RF/Cellular is inside them then CC will get the same proportion. Does that seem reasonable. Should 3MM's get 50% of the business then likewise CC will also.
You must look on the bright side. As we all know 50% of 250m units is 125m. Volume comes into it but at
1m units/£20m ratio (£2.5bn) that is something to aim at, so cheer up. We will get there.
