if it did happen I would like to see EESL buy 51% to guarantee a 100% supply chain for themselves and an 'independent' company that could service all Indian makers and the World, having seen EESL Africa interest in CC.
That would let the CC SP run to £4 and possibly more to EESL advantage.

Was the photo with the digits (PIN) a gas meter.
We must be very close to volume announcements with Intellismart.
Could be down to pricing, probably not, or just drawn out paperwork.
Still come back to CC suddenly being well in with Intellismart/EESL.
If they have caught a cold with previous Smart Comms and CC via INDORE is proving to be 100% reliable then that is their problem solved. Said before, the only bit that makes a meter Smart is the Smart Comms.
Not that I would want it but I could see Intellismart making a bid for CC, that way they would control the whole of the input into Indian Market and maintain the SLA standard.

Like mobile phones these meters seem to be getting bigger, what's the clear bit at bottom.
The fact that Genus is involved probably means that CC knows all about them.
Wonder if key pad was prototype, press get all different photos, means nothing to them just Smart.

If it is a PIN number type structure I see it as an expensive **** up.
Most meters are not necessarily easy to get to, under stairs with may be torch, in basement of block of flats sometimes dirty and dusty. Presumably has a running out alarm but who is going to hear it, perhaps you have to put £50 a go in. Customer NOT happy I would think.

Morning ITT and All.. Looking at 4G meter it looks simple enough but do you know how the Comms works.
Do you put a PIN code in and then Utility takes payment from your debit card for set amount of units..
Surely most people have phones to pay on.

Thanks for that ITT, I am somewhat older than him and remember reading about him at the time. I had forgotten how Acorn and ARM had tied up. We would probably have stayed in EU but for the expansion into unstable countries, which was probably at the behest of US, finishing up with an unruly 27 and of course the achilles heel immigration which we cannot sustain in numbers from any part of the world.

The word convert to me can mean either replace or retrofit to 4G
Do not think any information has been given out on UPPCL, but Assam was already underway when we were notified.
Any inroads into UP would be very useful.

Evening Colour, all you can say in fact is that you do not know the answer to my question or dragging out until somebody else does know. So as shareholders we see the following, CC a small company, taken under the wing of EESL/Intellismart as may be their Smart Comms arm, has 25% of existing installations in whole of India, not bad, and will hopefully maintain 20% - 25% throughout the 250m unit requirement.
On the other hand EDF, this massive organisation, possibly 100 times the size CC and which may be subsidised by France who own it, in 4years have with challenges installed how many, a few meters. Looking at their Timeline they have been involved in all sorts of Nuclear etc in India but not Smart Meters previously so just trying to cash in. When a big company says challenges it means exactly that. CC has been invited on the scene by Intellismart well after the 1918 contracts so is EESL having thoughrs about EDF.

Colour you never give up, as LTI indicated you are on the CC BB, nice to know opposition but you are flogging a dead horse. EDF are owned by French Gov so stand a good chance of winning French orders. Also unless I am wrong is not the system in France PLC, so as long as in good condition is a lot easier to communicate with.
The 5m unit order in India I believe was for Andhra Pradesh and Bihar and others. What do you know about Andhra Pradesh, which is about half way down the right hand side of India, what progress there.
I cannot see it coloured in on Intellismart map. May be EESL has different map.

Morning Colour, as I said EDF I believe is owned by the French Government so no stakeholders and no finance, did they have to tender for the 35m or was it given to them. If EDF is like EESL are they facilitators and put together meter manufacturers, HES providers ,etc. I dont know but you do.
The 35 million are they the current installation or earlier generations and what time scale was that spread over and as above did they have any competitors.
Comparing France with India is a bit much, India has to modernise all of its infrastructure, has a totally different climate.
We will have to see how the coming months play out, CC is now geared up for large production and on many occasions is just supplying to Genus etc who have all of the contacts possibly EDF even.

Colour, I checked BI today and stand corrected. It would appear that CC were going to receive up to $4 when sales were made. However equally CC did not make any losses as it was BI's initiative. Apparently License still remains if and when sales abroad are made.
As we know EDF is French, in fact I believe it is owned by the French Government, could that by why they are so successful in France. Colour from your knowledge of EDF are they a manufacturer or a service provider. If a provider they could tie in with CC for certain Smart Comms requirements.
I say this because from what I understand Intellismart is the working arm of EESL.

You've got it Colour. I was saying all along the cancelling of CC agreement was nothing to do with CC's quality. It was that China became persona non grata. Whilst I would like more update on BI. I am assuming the same befell them.
The saving grace with BI was that it did not cost CC and in fact I think they got a $4m payment in advance. I do not think that BI took unfair advantage of CC in that the meters were operated on a 'Turnkey' system so had to be approved and activated by CC.

Colour, I do not think UPPCL was a contract to win. I think it was a continuance of a contract the Government had called a halt to. It will be interesting to see what happens with UPPCL as we now know sub contracts can be re-allocated.

Colour, it is good to hear that CC has 22% of current Smart installations in India, bodes well.
See attached Timeline for EDF, up to that point they only had the one Smart Meter order.
Probably big order because the company is big and EESL got carried away, EESL is certainly not going to make detrimental remarks like we gave it to them in 2018 and a lot has happened since then.
If CC had the order you would have considered that in 4 years they should have made a lot more progress even finished. DYOR but here is something.

Looking at a recent map including Assam it looks like EESL/Intellismart are mainly across northern area.
AS,BR,UP,HR,DL,RJ.
Any idea what areas other than Bihar that EDF are involved in for Smart Meters not Nuclear etc.
