I spoke to one of my clients/friends today who was a top flight mining engineer working as chief engineer for significant multi resource mines including a number of goldies. He is also a long term Centamin holder & very pleased with me for introducing him to the share. He has reviewed the reports, etc & he believes fixing the wall stability & restoring the grade is no major problem just take a bit of time but no significant loss of mineable resource. I respect his opinion in these areas highly so I am pleased that the indications we are getting from Horgan seem in line with those of someone I consider to be an “independent expert”. Cheers T

Hi Gnome Don’t worry too much about the WA premier, it is just we sandgropers still look back to the Charlie Court era & would like succession to take place in WA. We just don’t like you easterners! :)
RE: Centamin - Critical 2 Weeks Ahead - Added New Purchase to Portfolio18 Nov 2020 07:08
I think you all may be being a bit harsh on the El Raghys. Don't forget it was Sami who saw the potential in Sukari & then took Centamin from a junior rock kicker to a decent producer, he made me a lot of money for which I am very appreciative. His son was not a particularly good CEO but I give him a free pass on that one considering his accomplishments with Sukari. I am about to re-enter Centamin in a decent amount but am in 2 minds, buy now or wait for the almost inevitable drop below 1 pound which is likely if history is anything to go by - any comments on this would be appreciated.
Why? Because politicians are idiots who only concern themselves with what they think will get them votes! The Donald is picking on China thinking it will get him votes from "Joe Sixpack", similar tactics worked for him last election & he has the power to take China on. In Oz with our PM, although I think in general he has done a good job managing the virus & the stimulus measures he has introduced, his tactics against China are just stupid and will cost key Australian industries heavily, he should leave the fighting to the big boys & keep his opinions in the shadows where they belong!
Mother in law as well as my own mother are just memories for me but very fond memories like this stock, no debt but like any miner will have difficulties any more as for you Super, I live in Australia now so don’t really give a damn at much :)
RE: UK House of Lords need reform !04 Apr 2020 13:24
No need to get so mad & insult my wife who happens to be Chinese but only 5 years younger than me, she has still made 100 and I doubt if too many of you have done the same, you panic over nothing & don’t know you are born, a world war or two will change your mind, I will die soon anyway so don’t care, would just like my third card from Queenie, I find them special :)
I think this corona virus assault is just an excuse to distract people from the real problems of this world, the mortality & infection rate is insignificant compared to major virus infections, think of aids/hiv or if any of you are old enough to have experienced the 1918 Spanish flu you will understand what I mean, too much panic without sensible reason, keep hold of your cey shares, quality will ultimately shine :)
RE: Dividend on current share price thoughts04 Feb 2020 03:42
In AUD terms (my currency) I will get around 15c per share divi from Centamin for the 2019 year, seeing as my original cost including my 20c option exercise was AUD 23.5c my yield on cost of around 64% makes me smile. However, when they get back to GBP 1.80 & considering the relative strength of the pound versus AUD I am definitely going to take some profit as I am sick of the inconsistency/volatility and want to reduce my exposure. Good luck to all & here's hoping for a good year with no more slip ups :)
Thanks Gnome, as a beancounter I should know these things, but your cheat sheet link is very clear & precise, much appreciated. Hopefully the new year & market flight to perceived safety will prove rewarding to we long hoping & anticipating Centamin shareholders :) Happy & prosperous new year to all.
Mr T, I think we will see close to 2 Quid again soon & if so I am bailing my major holdings (will keep the 53000 in my super fund as can’t use the money for another ten years when I’m 60). Would like to hold them all as I do believe in Centamin but the roller coaster ride of the past 20 years has left me wishing for a more stable investment environment :) Hope you are keeping well & not all your investments are as volatile as this one
With gold now $250 per ounce higher than for the June 2019 half & production expected to be improving significantly for this current half with a corresponding reduction in costs per ounce, can we expect a big final divi? I personally see that a final of 10c is not out of the question, this may be wishful thinking but I don't think it an unreasonable hope & I certainly wouldn't say no to a wedge of that proportion. Any thoughts out there as to my hopes, am I being to greedy??
As I deal in pacific pesos (aud) and the pound has got significantly stronger against the dollar since last highs I can now take 1.80 as against the 2.00 I was holding out for. I could have got 1.92 last high but greed scuppered me, if we get to 1.80 the 300,000 I have in my investment trust are going, the 50,000 I have in my super fund can stay for another 10 years until I am 60! After holding these shares for nearly 20 years & going through all the ups & downs I would love the opportunity to take some money off the table :)
