There is so much conflicting news and so called facts on the virus and the vaccines. The vaccines are making a difference. It is an evolving situation though. The mutations and their manifestations are frankly scary. I hope and pray out vaccines slow down the spread and deaths and help us get children back to school and our economy going again. The impact on our youngsters is horrendous. It’s not just about keeping the elderly alive, the under 30s are having their lives blighted by this plague. So, we should all be hailing the vaccines and thanking god or whoever they have sailed to the rescue. I sometimes feel the comments are almost willing the vaccines to fail.
Troublesome
The U.K. are leading the way with vaccination. Even you can’t deny that. Look at the EU, they have totally ****ed up. As for Starmer he wanted us to throw our lot in with the EU and criticised us for not doing so!
Being patriotic is not a crime. Try it some time it makes you feel good. Well done U.K. plc and well done NVCT
Guys we don’t need to be investors in Nova and also hoping vaccines don’t work and generally promoting mankind’s fall. The vaccines thank the Lord are working and will help us live with the virus. Testing though will be here for the foreseeable. The demand across the world is huge and probably outstrips supply. NVCT are right at the cutting edge of this. I’m delighted about progress with vaccines and I’m a very strong holder here. We can be both!
It is a definite possibility we could be taken over. Big Pharma are getting more and more interested in diagnostic companies so AZ may be a suitor.
Can’t discount Thermo or Roche diagnostics moving in. I think this could happen in next 6 to 18 month window. The R and D capability of the company will make it both highly relevant and attractive. Not sure about price but will always be at a significant premium to sp
The response to the results I suggested early last week depended more on R and D update and future forecast or prospects. Whilst I understood the rather circumspect stance on the latter they should have given some guidance. It was a little naive in my view. They will get better at investor relations in time.
We don’t want hype just good communication. The news flow now needs to be managed better to change the sentiment, allow the sp to consolidate and we then go again.
For reassurance, if the company thought the sales were likely to fall or wither on the vine, why add 120 plus headcount! This is clearly building an infrastructure for a higher turnover. You don’t have to be a business guru to see that.
I think for long term holders this was a good update. It is all about the journey and with 120 plus new employees and sales infrastructure in place the business will continue to flourish. I totally get the view on forward guidance. It is impossible to give.
The sp will settle in the range 10 to 12 pounds and will likely kick on with r and d and significant sales news.
Forget the pump and dump this is a serious business now and has come of age.
Phil
I am a little surprised the share price has hit the buffers just now. I expected a steady rise until results. It would appear the jury really does want to see the results and forward statement before any re rating of the sp up or down. I don’t think there is much downside here and the mkt cap at £800m is fairly modest for any healthcare company making lots of money.
The R and D for me will be critical.NVCT has consistently been ahead of the curve unlike some of their aspiring peers I.e. AVCT that are working very hard to join the game. I’m in for the long haul and wish all investors well here.
I think there are a number of reasons that make us vulnerable; obesity, diabetes, CV disease, COPD and density of population.
All the above doesn’t help. It is easy to continually criticise the government as some on here have done continually and unfairly in my view. In many respects the cards are stacked against us! However, we are head and shoulders ahead of our European partners in regards to vaccination so let’s all stay positive.
Not sure if anyone picked up but a small piece on COVID stocks in MOS business section. Fairly positive for Novacyt but hints that vaccines may decrease testing further down the line. I think the last comment is a little naive but generally positive.
10 times revenue is a generous multiple but not unknown. I think it would be based on 2021 revenues though which I am sure will be north of £400M
£50 valuation does not look so ridiculous does it?
Troublesome you seem very happy to hold UK government to account for high death rate and we can argue all day long about the stats from various countries. What is your view on the culpability of China in all this, the complicity of the WHO and what should be the repercussions for both once we find out for sure just what they did? I hope you have some anger for those to blame and not just those trying to deal with the mess!
