They weren’t struggling pre-Covid.
I think Indepthwins admitted to not understanding accounts so I doubt it.

The dividends don’t have to come out of that years profits. If there’s retained earnings available (previous profit they still hold) then dividends can come from that.
E.g 2019 £10m profit, no dividends paid. 2020 £1m profit, £5m dividends paid. £4m of that is from the retained profits. Extreme example but serves the purpose.
BigPlan, nice to see a fellow accountant here! It’s always good to see other people rational thought process rather than the mindless panicking comments that seem to fill a lot of boards lately. I disagree with some of your comments but I can see why you think that way. Long term I don’t see streaming/on demand services as a viable alternative to cinema. Regular TV yes, but not cinema. Cinema is about the experience and social time with others. I’m fortunate enough to have a decent home cinema but still much prefer going to a proper establishment. I’ve been in since the 20p days of March 2020 and plan to hold currently.
It’s for long term so he’s probably fine.
Loads of other shares down too so I don’t think it’s anything specific to Cineworld.
I don’t think it’s fair to call someone thick for having a realistic view…
Why does this need to be posted about every other day? It’s not shorted enough, and Reddit is not interested, especially WSB which is for American markets. I’d love it to happen but it’s just not possible.
Won’t work. It’s not shorted enough.
They’re not necessarily wrong, just CINE et al. don’t fit in with their investment strategy. They are on the whole very risk averse. Nothing wrong with that but we all know they’re missing out.
I think some people on here miss understand how shorts work and what impact they have on the price.
Cases are almost irrelevant when we get to the point of completing the vaccination program. The vaccine doesn’t prevent you much from catching Covid, but it does give strong prevention against serious cases and hospitalisation. It’s the people getting seriously ill from Covid that really matters, not the thousands of people testing positive but are practically unaffected by it.
Just sharing an article about a study done by my university. It proves what we all knew anyway! :)

Yes that’s what I was referring to. I’m not worried about it. I’d rather be diluted 10% than CINE run out of money. :)
smalltrader CINE shares are/will be diluted at some point. Part of the financing deal late last year involved issuing shares so we’ll be diluted by 10% at some point but I can’t remember the exact details.
You won’t get away with it. All the platforms report back to HMRC so they’ll see what you’ve done.
I’ve heard from multiple people they’re planning on visiting cinemas for films such as this. Many families are out there that haven’t had a day out like going to the cinema in a long time so the strong demand upon opening was inevitable.
Ah I tried to find who created it but couldn’t find the original post.
Oh wow. That’s so cool. Now wish I put the effort in to remove the fullstops to the left of the rocket so it looks better on the video! I’ll make the rocket even better for next time we roll it out. :)
Now I have celebrity status do I get a red carpet at the £2 party? :)
