1:16 pm, April 27, 2010 Styles & Wood builds its first community health centre Altrincham-based shopfitting firm Styles & Wood has built a new state-of-the-art health centre in Burnage, Manchester. The firm announced that it had been appointed by the North West Strategic Health Authority to build the £1.3 million, six-surgery health centre at the two-storey Kingsway Medical Practice site. “We're delighted to be teaming up with the local health authority to help create a unique, state-of-the-art facility that will transform healthcare provisions in the area,” said Styles & Wood's director for construction services, Andy Shaw. “Projects such as this form the backbone of any community. Therefore, we're 100 per cent committed to using our extensive expertise to help benefit the people of Burnage and the surrounding areas.” Styles & Wood said the health authority was one of a “growing list” of public sector, including the Department for Work & Pensions.

Shore Capital made the following comment on recent results:- Styles & Wood Full year results… poised for recovery "Styles reported results in line with our expectations for the year to December 2009 and we retain our profit and earnings forecasts for the current year. Trading conditions were tough due to the economic climate last year and the impact of this continues; financial results are not expected to see the full benefit of recovery this year given the time lags inherent in the contracting market. The company has continued to generate cash, building upon the refinancing conducted last summer (raising new equity of £12.2m gross, accompanied by a debt for equity swap) and now enjoys a gross cash position of c£14.4m (c£8.3m net, ahead of our estimates). Management is actively seeking revenues, but focusing upon profitable business rather than market share; margins are thus emerging at a stronger level than previously forecast. In particular, we expect support services activities with major clients to show positive progress in the current year. Styles remains in a strong position to deliver recovery as this emerges from its retained customer base, and long-term growth through financial and service strength."

Think it goes to prove how quickly some of these bottomed out stocks rebound. Had a stonking trade in ACE having gone from a loss to a massive profit within two days. I do think we could see a rise like that in ACR and this is still lowly priced.
