Francesco Gardin, who graduated from Paleocapa in 1973 and graduated in physics from Padua, was a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence: he was among the very first in Italy to write scientific articles and volumes on the subject, teaching the discipline as early as the 80s at the universities of Udine, Siena and Milan. In 1983 he founded AISoftw@re, which later merged into Exprivia, a company with a turnover of almost 200 million euros active in the field of IT services. Between the 1990s and today, he has served on the Board of Directors of IT and investment companies such as IPO Beijing Investment Consulting Company, London Asia Capital, Pan European Terminals and First IPO Capital. Today he is CEO of Quantum Blockchain Technologies, a London-based company that deals with blockchains, computer data structures that are also widely used in cryptocurrencies (and beyond).
