Any ideas on why the sector is absolutely ripping?
Spike....spike.....f##kin spike
In that scenario, everyone else will make lots of money, but unfortunately you'll lose lots.
Then on top of that you have a downgrade of GOG which wouldn't have helped.....all coming together to cause irrational fear-driven exit running. Ofc if we don't bounce in the next few days and further currently unknown negative information does leak out, then discard this as nonsense
It's almost definitely the SGC family disinvestment. That share opened around 8% down on the news and the rest of the sector followed it down slowly over the day
Current fear and correction in the somewhat overvalued American tech market could be causing a rotation jnto undervalued ftse stocks....especially tech
Don't like speculation without evidence but it's really hard not to think something is going on
So pragmatic of you Holla ..I'm a LTH since last summer.....lets hope its not a 1 day wonder!
To drink champagne on a Monday?
OK it looks like its write a bio time because the respective stock is dominant at the moment. Ok my turn.
Hi everyone, I'm TheOrms I'm here because I was in cineworld middle of last year and someone mentioned NEX. Following the tip I looked at Nex's price and growth pre covid, considered the fact the government would back it if things got really ugly and finally considered how I thought recovery may play out.......and it was a no brainer. I bought in the high 1 teens/low 1.20's and have since averaged up to £1.27. Sold 1/4 of my shares at £2.51 and will either sell another 1/4 if numbers get peaky in spring or summer or sell nothing until well into the future.
I think we may need a divi to see £4 plus again and plan to have at least my initial investment in for when that returns. In relation to medium term outlook, I think with a potential economic rebound in Q2, plus high demand for domestic holidays and finally the fact I imagine a number of other transport companies may have struggled, I believe it could be a really great year for this share.
I'm glad someone else has said it, absolute nonsense.
More good vaccination news this morning with Novavax, should be up if anything
I'm seeing 491k vaccinations for Sat 23/1. Thats nearly 1 million just on Fri and Sat alone
....that you shared with everyone
Sammy18......nothing like sounding wise with the wonderful benefit of hindsight and knowing exactly what has happened since.
No one was even talking about debt covenants when this spiked to £1 back then, no one knew Cine would close for several months or that block buster films would get pushed back. No one knew £1 was the ceiling, though with your wording you'd think this was a headlined fact when Carrots bought in. A 2nd wave was hypothesised but not fact, no one knew about several national lockdowns and what was going to happen over winter. 96p was half price compared to 3/4 months earlier, therefore with an optimistic outlook of Bond, Tenet etc and Covid-19 reducing, it could've meant debt would've been paid down and SP rise through ticket sales and pent up demand. Sense of perspective should be considered before such a ridiculous comment next time.
Next time I'm buying into a growth stock though I may ask you if its the top of the spike or if it will keep growing as you seem to have access to info I dont have. Much appreciated.
Correction from what?
The ftse is considered one of the most undervalued markets and has just had its worst year since 2008. Do you think you're on a Tesla board or something?
Take your drivel elsewhere mate.
I'm gonna guess you're 20-25p too low
I get you LT.
I can't personally see any issues from discussing entry and exit points.....I mean thats the game right there isn't it?.....even if you are long on a share, the money you make or lose will ultimately come down to those decisions.
I do appreciate its frustrating though if you're long and you're watching the SP go through repeated cycles. Plus I also get that trading discussions will feel like they are not adding value to the board for some. However, there's more than 1 way to skin a cat and there's more than 1 way to make money in shares. Therefore various discussions are going to take place.
