GS, surely a comparison would be cinemas vs Netflix or going to a live football match as opposed to watching one On TV. MVR does have a market of millions of people, even though I agree it has failed to capitalise on lockdown. MVR content can be cast to TVs for those not wishing to use a headset, so theatre viewing might use this option as opposed to the many that won’t want to set foot in such a place for a very long time.

AM still should step aside, he is dragging this company down, at least he took my advice :) and put a picture up in his news night piece, however negative he was in his mentioning of the company, didn’t sing the praises enough at all.

More good news in a sense, Virgin Arena idea looks a strange one with platforms but “ Steve Davis of promoters SSD says he has been "inundated" with requests from artists who want to play, and will announce another 15 shows on Tuesday.”

Perhaps MVR can have audiences in their area of Ally Pally, else it might revert back and the Brixton location be their London venue, either is fine.

Diversification or related to anything RMS do? Perhaps a back door for the new company to get a listing and gradually reform into something more profitable.

Given the change to the rules on face masks I wonder if MVR branded/band related items would be a money spinner, even VistaPrint are selling them.

@AlbertPode, I agree, but I’m just wondering that since then the Brixton announcement came, why would they need to keep Ally Pally as well, more likely it was a one off for Wireless?

Here is my thinking on MVR venues:

LA: In use now
New York: To be used for John Gore theatre related content
London: O2 Brixton (Ally Pally was only for Wireless Connect and will not be used further and no content has been created that we know of in a smaller studio setup)

Absolutely, very pleased with that news, I would hope the venue will have been setup in the same fashion as their other locations and be ready to go and hope it is a few weeks away than months. Main thing is the mention of ‘ticket sales’ and a platform to deliver that.

The RNS states what we have all been saying, get rid of the CLN death spiral and do a normal equity fundraise in the coming months. This may be good in terms of the death spiral but still means they need cash even after all of this funding so how much will they raise next time and at what price. Maybe then the management might finally buy in.

Tech was proved a year ago, currently this just looks boring, one singer, a standard backdrop and not using the space they have. Any production company could put this together, it’s not new. No one is going to come knocking to get more of the same.

@Alex, I’m not expecting a dance floor full of artists but I am expecting more than one, given the size of the floor space. We shall see when the bigger names come along.

The set to me just looks a little boring, yes, I’m watching the YouTube, but there is only the singer, surely they could have some other singers or dancers? Maybe they will on other acts.

Again, numbers, I was expecting hundreds of thousands, if not millions. All these acts reportedly had that many followers, so where are they, on the app?

Well I’d like to know how many views other live bands get, 1,300 on YouTube, after all this promotion seems very low, worldwide audience too.
