Also I don’t think the Board of Opti are excessively paid. SOH got £250,000 last year but creates a lot of value when you look at capital raised versus market capitalisation. I worked with lots of people who earned multiples of that every year in the City of London.

Frag. Lots of banks and finance houses already provide inventory financing. SYME are promising to offer an online app using blockchain and not finance the inventory themselves ie become a fin tech enabler of inventory financing matching up suppliers and finance providers.

It may work but what is to stop Amazon who know a thing or two about IT, logistics and have plenty of cash, people and resources copying the idea?

How do mitigate risk as a lender if you sell the stock which you might in theory have to return when the stock In question is an small cap and illiquid stock where the price could easIly move against you and you caught in squeeze and trigger a big loss. The CEO reckons this could be a Unicorn stock so why would you expose yourself to such risk?

The only reason to sell is because you know the stock lender doesn’t intend to repay you and require you to return the shares. So you sell shares and use that to pay down loan balance.

I think CEO is selling shares by this mechanism. Time will tell.

This is a massive RED flag.

The lenders who lent stock to CEO are selling to diversify their risk according to CEO on Proactive interview. This explanation simply doesn’t stack up. If lenders are selling because they fear a price drop why would other shareholders not sell as well? If the SYME price is expected to rise and CEO can return cash to get shares back then there are evil wicked shorters who will lose a lot of money. For a small illiquid share like SYME you can’t hedge the share price risk by diversifying into other stocks.

As to use of funds to take the risk of the junior tranche of the securitisation issue a few million is a drop in the ocean compared to size of proposed deals for a billion deal £50 million would be needed to tale first 5% of the risk.

They don’t even have enough money for a finance director or even finance manager which they claim they need because of the Board’s financial expertise - this from a Board who overstated their pro for a net assets by £225 million. LOL

alwaysznow Unique business model. LOL. There are loads of inventory and asset finance companies in the world already. Oh but SYME has an app as well. Two types of buyers here traders and the dreamers. The traders may make some money. The dreamers won’t.

Unique business model? LOL There are already lots of stock financing companies such as Hitachi or major Banks that are well established. There are also fintech businesses such as Kabbage in USA doing the same for small businesses that have established their brand in the market. A share for traders and fantasists only.
