fair point jimini and i wouldn't argue with that in principle.i t just sounds as though there may be wider dimensions than just cost cutting,the RNS also seems to be referencing restructuring and some sort of possible refinancing involving Bantry Bay.the aspect which i found positive was that they seem to be taking a determined and proactive approach to address the problems.i accept that there are other possible ways of looking at it.

one should never underestimate the power of activist investors. personally i have been lucky enough to do very out of getting into situations where DBAY investors (in their various guises) have been involved).these sort of guys don't play around.very positive sign to learn of fresh involvement.

just seen your post from yesterday,glenstar.not surprised that halifax appear to have made no progress.i doubt it is high on its list of priorities and it probably won't want to devote time and effort considering something that might not happen.HL said much the same thing months ago in that they were looking into ways of dealing with it if it happened,but I've not heard anything more and haven't yet enquired further.incidentally I've been looking for any news re the token issue since pig's posts but without success.hope we don't end up in a cleft stick situation, with tokens being issued but no way to receive them.

glad to hear that bignose.i was wondering...sod's law and all that! the macro situation on the banking front is obviously creating a very risk off environment,so profit taking and de-risking is going to be in play. next FUM specific news should be FDA and im hoping it's going to be well before the end of q2.there was i think,a point in barder's last interview when he almost seems about to suggest this, but draws back.that was the impression i got and another poster has commented on it,but i haven't listened to it again so could well be wrong and as always only time will tell.

morning bignose.agree with all that. certainly not confident that the b2b route will be successful,but pleased they have decided to make that the focus,as much more potential imo.time will tell. interested that you have gone into FUM.i was actually encouraged by the last RNS,even though it was regarded initially as a little negative.just down to disappointed expectations on approval by q1 ,which has obviously gone back a bit. if nothing else,ERP has taught me the art of being patient! fum bb is actually pretty good imo, fairly civilised. hope it works out for you.

the 2nd and 3rd payments combined should be about1usd per share i believe. this will be subject to certain,as yet, unquantified deductions .this is about a sixth of the first payment,so pretty small. apprentlly they are not due until after the 31st march(the one year anniversary of the deal). this is my understanding from other posters information and partly from my own platform provider,but i have never seen a full transcript of the takeover documentation,so there may be nuances or qualifications to the situation,of which i am unaware.

just due to general market concerns,imo. yesterday's rns was potentially mildly positive,although the amount involved is relatively modest.the fact that it may be subject to appeal also makes its impact less immediate.
