Morning all. glad they have arrived.had a cursory read as a bit tied up today. will mull things over and re- read later on.
Agreed.seems things are progressing according to plan.
Very strange bignose.i do recall one occasion when an announcement was due,but it didn't actually come out until just before or just after midnight on the relevant day, but obviously nothing is coming out now until the market opens. it's about 5 20 am in hk,i think. not exactly encouraging is it.
Morning bignose. agreed. we'll know tomorrow (i hope) whether there have been any developments.not holding my breath though.
1.1 million usd! freudian slip perhaps.
My summary.we have sold an historic holding which was basically regarded as worthless, for 1.1 USD. this is a huge loss over its acquisition cost (no surprise there). so good news that we will get a payment, but of course it will go absolutely nowhere in th eoverall scheme of things. may help to keep the auditors happy for a couple of months (although it is of course an after the period event for purpose of the forthcoming results. so not really of any significance imo.
4 days until results.will there have been any progress? radio silence suggests not, but who knows!
Johnson looks like a real heavyweight.not quite sure what medda will add, but perhaps she will bring an additional perspective/dimension to the existing mix.
I do wonder if kelso is behind the change, as part of its plan to increase shareholder value. yesterday's RNS refers specifically to kelso as having given an irrevocable undertaking to vote in favour. just speculating of course.
Https://www.retailgazette.co.uk/blog/2024/03/the-works-stock-exchange/ not sure what impact this will have.
Moving to aim.https://www.retailgazette.co.uk/blog/2024/03/the-works-stock-exchange/ don't think this has been mentioned.not sure of its impact if any,but cost savings sound encouraging.
Anyone else surprised at the muted response by the s/p to the news? seems to suggest that "the market" is very unsure as to the future direction of travel.
Interesting reference to evolving into a more conventional plc structure. probably the most significant part of the announcement for me. very good news!
Yes,this one is interesting.i tend to be in the camp which thinks kelso may have more influence than might appear warranted by the size of its holding in THG and the size of kelso overall. the individuals involved are ,collectively ,persons of considerable influence.
Very interesting glennstar
that is very much what i have been hoping would happen im with HL,but i imagine once a solution is proposed/adopted by one platform others will follow.
That is interesting,use99.i hadn't realised the still had the 3d printing machine (i assume from this appointment that they must still have it).
Well keith, i do like to temper what would otherwise be a condition of unrelenting and all pervading pessimism, with a hint of optimism, however misplaced it is likely to prove. regent usually like to try out each new name for at least a year or so,so perhaps we may have to wait until august for the next exercise in nomenclaturial acrobatics. .my current favourite would be"mortification group plc", to reflect the shame and embarrassment which the company should rightly feel at having arrived at this sorry state of affairs(.Incidently i did have another suggestion based on an obscure sexual perversion, but as i am a gentleman and,so i like to think, a person of good taste, i have refrained from putting it forward and will leave it to your respective imaginations to ponder)
Well my guess is results date announcement this week (friday?) with date fixed for 29th march, which is the last trading date in march.will be interesting (in the chinese proverb sense) to see what tergiversatory statements they come up with. still you never know, perhaps i will be pleasantly surprised! (probably not)
Evening bignose (it's almost10 pm here in blighty) well done for finding it. .makes you wonder why regent didn't seem to know when they announced results in august2022. actually that is a genuine question in a sense , rather that simply another pot at regent. did they not know?could they simply not be bothered to update the announcement? (the wording followed the previous announcement verbatim). whatever the reason it does smack of amateur hour at the office! anyway thanks for finding it. the question though,as you rightly pose, is have there actually been any sales? oh well news before the end of the month.
