It is Pyrolysis. All that this is, is decomposition by heat in an inert atmosphere. , ie No Oxygen to prevent burning ( oxidation). It is the same as PHE and EQT and many other companies. ( just Google pyrolysis). It is old technology. There will be one coming near you soon. Feedstock types depend on Thermodynamic operating conditions, temp, and pressure. The aim of pyrolysis is to convert the feedstock to 'usuable' products. In the main, this has been a 'cheap' low quality fuel oil, where the temp and pressure requirements are not so excessive that the operation requires expensive reaction containment structures. DMG operates in excess of 1000dC, but i cannot see any details on pressure. For comparison, Steam Reforming Methane to produce H2 typically operates at 400psi. All that you have to remember is that plastics and rubber, in the main, are just very long molecular versions of Methane CH4, together with other elements such as O, N, S ( Vulcanisation in tyres). The more complex the chemical composition, the higher temp. required to transform it. When a gas ( syngas) is the product ( as in DMG and EQT system) this is composed of CO, CO2, H2 and a little CH4. This syngas is then converted to Methane or H2, through Steam Reforming process.
