Ford offers new F-150 Lightning incentive

Ford introduced the new Lightning incentive last week, offering up to $7,500 for buying or leasing. This means you can take advantage of up to $15,000 in savings.

On Ford’s website, the 2023 F-150 Lightning Platinum trim features a $7,500 retail purchase incentive or an equal amount in Red Carpet Lease customer cash.

The Lariat also features a $7,500 incentive for purchasing but only $5,000 for leasing. Ford is offering $1,500 off the XLT model for leasing or purchasing, while the Pro has no incentive.

According to auto research platform CarsDirect, this is the largest discount offered on Ford’s electric truck. When the Lightning was first introduced, there were no deals available. Meanwhile, Ford was pushing for balloon financing with its Ford Options Plan.

Ford said in April the F-150 Lightning is eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit. Although the Platinum trim is over the $80,000 threshold, you can still save up to $15,000 combined on the loaded Lariat model. The incentives will run through January 2.

GM has been named to the Fortune “Change the World” list consisting of major companies that are not only profitable, but support various social and political agendas, with a focus this year on greenhouse gas reduction.

GM was included in a group of companies Fortune calls “the American electrifiers,” thanks to their efforts toward converting the USA’s extensive passenger and commercial vehicle fleet to EVs.

Placed first in the “Change the World” list above second-place MercadoLibre and third-place Walmart, the “American electrifiers” include GM, charging network company ChargePoint, EV battery supplier SK On Co., and Tesla.

While Tesla is credited with being the breakthrough company responsible for giving EVs a foothold as a serious transportation option in the U.S., the torch may be passed to GM according to the list, with “the next phase of bringing EVs to the U.S. masses” potentially falling to The General.

The GM lineup will contain more than twice the number of models offered by Tesla by 2023’s end and includes popular vehicle styles such as pickup trucks and SUVs. Meanwhile, the automaker also produces relatively affordable all-electric nameplates, including the soon to be revamped Chevy Bolt EV and the Chevy Equinox EV.

GM also won a place at the head of the “Change the World” list thanks to its future EV plans. The company held back on a full EV rollout until it created a technological foundation by thoroughly developing its GM Ultium batteries, electric GM Ultium Drive motors, and its highly scalable BEV3 platform.

With this groundwork laid, it now plans to launch 30 EV models worldwide by 2025 and transition its entire light-duty vehicle lineup to all-electric motivation by 2035. GM also recently made an agreement with Tesla giving drivers of GM EVs access to Tesla’s Supercharger network starting in 2024. It’s also launching a fast charger network in partnership with six other automakers.

The 10,423 EV units that were sold in the U.S. in Q3 from Mercedes-Benz is a 284 percent increase from Q3 2022.

The EQE SUV led Mercedes-Benz’s U.S. EV sales for the quarter, with 3,488 units sold. The EQB (3,270), EQS SUV (1,596), EQS Sedan (1,100), and EQE Sedan (969) followed behind.

The EQS and EQB have yearly percentage increases of 2458.1 percent and 803.1 percent, respectively. The EQS Sedan actually saw a decrease compared to Q3 2022, but only by 1.9 percent.

President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, Dimitris Psillakis, commented on the brand’s sales for Q3:

“We are very encouraged by the strong and sustained demand of all our products and especially for the Alabama-produced EQE SUV and EQS SUV. With the professionalism and dedication of our dealer partners, we achieved significant sales growth within both our Top-End Vehicle ICE and EV segments.”

Mercedes-Benz reported stronger sales figures in Q2 as 11,927 EVs made it out the door to customers, and the sales growth from the same quarter in 2022 was 608 percent.

EVs made up 15 percent of Q2 sales, up from the 11.5 percent it reported in Q3.

Mercedes-Benz is also launching Level 3 automated driving in the U.S. in 2023.

Mercedes-Benz Cars sales reached 510,600 units (-4%) in the third quarter, a solid performance in a volatile market. Volumes were impacted by a model changeover for the E-Class and a supply-chain bottleneck which constrained availability of the GLC. Sales of the Mercedes-Maybach rose by 26% during the same period. The transformation of Mercedes-Benz continues with hybrid and electric vehicles now accounting for 20% of overall sales and battery electric car (BEV) sales up 66% in the quarter. In the first nine months of the year, Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car battery-electric vehicle sales almost doubled (+97%) and Top-End vehicle sales rose 6%. Total sales reached 1,529,800 units (+2%) in the three quarters ending September, in line with the Mercedes-Benz Cars full-year guidance of keeping sales at the prior-year level.

“Customers continue to desire our products even in a volatile market environment, with Top-End vehicles proving popular also in the all-electric segment particularly with the EQS SUV. At the same time, we are preparing to set new benchmarks also in other segments. Sales of Mercedes-Benz Cars battery electric vehicles (BEV) reached 61,600 units (+66%) in the third quarter, boosted by the EQA (+108%) and EQB (+96%) models, which remain strong sellers even ahead of their mid-lifecycle upgrades. The EQS and EQS SUV models continue to lead the electric luxury segment, with 26,300 (+53%) units sold year-to-date. Sales of the electric smart reached 3,900 units (+107%) in Q3. Including plug-in hybrids, xEV sales at Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars increased by 19% to 98,400 units in the third quarter resulting in more than 1 million Mercedes-Benz electric and hybrid vehicles on the road. The company continues to expand charging options for its customers worldwide, installing its first own high-power charging stations this fall and by joining a new charging network joint venture across North America starting in 2024.

The BMW Group reports 621,699 global vehicle sales during the third quarter of 2023, which is almost six percent more than a year ago. Also, the year-to-date results are several percent better than a year ago.

Results last quarter and year-to-date:

BMW sales: 549,941 (up 6%) and 1,621,267 (up 6%)

Mini sales: 70,384 (up 3%) and 210,741 (up 1%)

BMW Group Automotive sales: 621,699 (up 6%) and 1,836,563 (up 5%)

Meanwhile, BMW Group battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales in Q3 increased by nearly 80 percent year-over-year to a new record of 93,931. This accounted for 15.1 percent of the total volume (compared to 8.9 percent a year ago).

BMW (OTC:BMWYY) (ETR:BMWG) reported a remarkable 79.6% surge in their fully-electric BMW and MINI vehicle sales in Q3 compared to last year.

The automaker saw a remarkable 100.3% year-on-year increase in its Q3 deliveries of fully-electric vehicles, effectively doubling their numbers. This positive trend also extended to the company's overall portfolio, with a total of 621,699 vehicles, comprising BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce (OTC:RYCEY), being delivered to customers in the same quarter, reflecting a 5.8% year-on-year rise.

Over the course of January to September, the company achieved a 5.1% growth in total sales, resulting in the delivery of 1,836,563 vehicles.

Additionally, BMW Group projects BEVs to make up a substantial 15% of its 2023 total vehicle sales.

BERLIN, Oct 10 (Reuters) - German carmaker BMW (BMWG.DE) saw group sales of its battery-electric vehicles surge by 79.6% year on year in the third quarter of 2023 to 93,931 units, the company said on Tuesday.

Total group sales increased by 5.8% that quarter and by 5.1% over the first nine months of the year, the company added.

In September, new passenger car registrations in the United Kingdom increased by 21 percent year-over-year to 272,610. After nine months of 2023, the total number of new registrations amounted to 1,451,908 (up 20 percent year-over-year).

The plug-in electric car segment also expanded, but only slightly faster than the general market.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reports that 63,858 new plug-in cars were registered last month (27 percent more than a year ago), which is 23.4 percent of the total market (compared to 20.4 percent a year ago). For reference, non-rechargeable hybrids noted 38,014 new registrations and account for 13.9 percent of the market.

Iam thinking along the same lines as you. Last 3 TPIs been 22/23/26% so cant wait to see the next ones but as only upto end Sept it may be the one after that shows a 30% jump as BMW & Mercedes really ramp up from Oct-Dec on top of everything else.

In the U.S. and Canada, as 2024 model year vehicle order banks start to open on vehicles with BlueCruise available on many or all trims, including – Ford F-150, F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, Lincoln Nautilus and Lincoln Corsair – customers will have a lot more BlueCruise-equipped vehicles to choose from,” added Lambrix.

Can’t wait see the figures. USA strike meant we lost 15% of the qtr on some models possibly.

BMW ramping up July August in there so anything around 20% still be great but Iam hoping a lot higher aswell.
