Every clinical site that is now evaluating the Genedrive beads will be validating performance and Genedrive will use these validations to support its sales pitch I am sure. It won’t reduce the requirement for a country to test the performance, but it will add credibility and justification for a country to evaluate them for their use.

The benefits of the test are not only performance and storage, the massive one for me is the ability to use conventional PCR machines in combination with real-time qPCR machines to ramp up throughput efficiencies and cut costs in terms of capital equipment. There are approx 100x more standard PCR machines out there compared to real-time qPCR machines and they are 10x less costly. Hence a lab that can set up multiple standard PCR machines to feed a single real-time machine and save a lot of money and set up more facilities and increase throughput. For Asia and Africa this could be a really important USP in my view and really sets the Genedrive test apart from all of the others.

For their qPCR beads it’s a wave through process though PHE will want to verify performance. For the LAMP test it’s a new IVD submission. I’m not sure LAMP gives any advantage over Genedrives qPCR beads to be honest, I don’t get the USP for that other than funding opportunities.

What's all the big deal about divoc and India anyway ?
Having an approval doesn't not necessrily mean we can sell.
I mean we have had approval on Europe and seems we can't sell swat all.
Abesides, only 1-2% of the Indian population could realistically afford our tests, and also the temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius in most areas making our product useless.

It maybe the Genedrive isn't the one filing for the approvals in India as the DIVOC website states

"DIVOC has applied for regulatory clearance in India."

@Mavern, that is an interesting and alternative thought process.

No, Omega are not clear to sell, they have pre-authorisation that hey can sell once they show performance data for their test, actually until then they can not sell. It was a very strange RNS, typically you announce once you have full authorisation not that you've entered the process. Odd.

@LP I think Paul's email is clear, they have not yet been given any instruction around sales from the Company and there are rules which mean when any price sensitive or material news is available the Company has a duty to notify the market. There is wriggle room in this, for example if the news is inside and there is an important RNS due (like the trading update) then the Company can wait for that RNS to include it if the timing is similar. I think simply this is what's happening. Time will tell all :)

@LP, at that point in time they had not been made aware of any by the Company in the same way they had not been made aware that DB had breakfast, thats not the same as saying he didn't have breakfast to keep DBs meal analogy alive

The PR company is only in receipt of information that the company has given them, they can only say they have not been made aware of any sales yet, this is not the same as no sales or no contracts drawn up around sales. They'll know when they're asked to kept write or submit an RNS...

@blustington, last week we were told the IMCR/DCGI testing centre had issues with their equipment and this caused a delay in getting the data out. It's not a paper exercise, they have to perform a small trial in-country to show performance against another comparable test.
