I don't think he was disingenuous, I think he may have had genuine concern based on things he heard and things he interpreted. We just don't know, but it does spook shareholders who read these boards looking for information. What is obvious is todays RNS shows nothing untoward.

@plant, yes I don't think DNAFudge will get there, if they do then fair play, but Genedrive is already used and has already been extensively tested in real-world scenarios, nothing beats experience as far as diagnostics goes

Stable at room temperature for 4 hours after unsealing, many Genedrive® 96 SARS-CoV-2 Kit 96-well plates can be left arrayed and open in the laboratory environment during the set-up process. The ready-to-go nature of the test bead also removes the fluid dispensing steps required in other assays, increasing the overall throughput of the Biomex i7 compared to using a liquid based test set-up. Accordingly, once validated, Beckman Coulter estimates that this new turnkey solution could process circa 1,000 PCR samples per Biomek installed during a standard 8-hour working day, using just a 0.5 full-time-equivalent in technician time for processing.

Genedrive has already completed initial evaluation of Beckman Coulter's RNA extraction chemistry to confirm compatibility with the Genedrive 96 SARS-CoV-2 test. Further work is ongoing to validate clinical saliva samples which are a very relevant sample type for applications such as high volume occupational screening. Beckman's RNAdvance Viral XP has already been listed as an extraction method for swab samples for use with the Centers for Disease Control's EUA-authorized COVID-19 test in FDA's FAQ on testing for SARS-CoV-2.

Approvals in India, US and other territories will each have their own impact on market cap depending on the market value it unlocks. Lots to come here. My finger is hovering for a sub 70p buy again!

Fact of the matter is the diagnostics industry has been plagued with Company's that say their product is nearly ready and look at these wonderful USPs. Genedrive has spent the last 9 years developing its platform and understands the complexities of developing diagnostic tests. I think PHE has looked at the Oxford Nanopore and DNA-Nudge systems and believed the hype around those companies. But they need to think why Abbott and Randox, well established businesses failed to deliver their products based on similar technologies.

Time will put GDR in a good position in my opinion. We just need those approvals!

The GDR lab assay has many practical advantages.

It requires less resources like pipette tips because ALL you are adding is sample, you are not having to mix and dispense reagents separately.

For me the big advantage is equipment. The GDR test allows you to amplify (the 2-3 hours bit) on standard PCR machines. These are ubiquitous and cheap compared to real-time PCR machines. The analysis part which does require a real-time machine takes just 10 minutes. Therefore you can run 18 analysis in every 3 hour amplification period. Therefore you can use 18 standard PCR machines with 1 real-time machine. It’s a huge cost saving as normally you’d need 18 real-time machines!

This significantly benefits diagnostics labs capital cost structures.

What’s nice is the all the other tests out there as far as I can see use a different chemistry that don’t allow this. For India, Africa and very high throughput labs this is a real bonus.

I think we are all here not only to make some money from our investment but also because tests like these do save lives. It's sobering to here people's experiences and I am very lucky not to know anyone directly. We need to test so more people 'don't know anyone' rather than 'knowing several people who have died'. It's a world wide issue with a coming global economic impact. Times to pull together in the same direction...

That is sad, you're officially the first person I know that has known someone. I hope for everyone that we don't get a larger second wave this winter, I think that would change the world for a very long time.

Should be mandatory and I think if the mortality rate increases and there is no vaccine or treatment I think we will all be hot footing it to the test centre. I guess nobody close to anyone here has been ill so it's hard to contextualise the importance to a chart of new cases.

Yes it's all just a little odd. It seems designed to confuse. There should be a structured testing program not a random 'go and get tested if you've got symptoms' approach and you should get a code when you're tested to get your result via text so the government can track who you are via your mobile. It's not rocket science.
