KD, according to the MOIL twitter that first raised this, GDR had notification of approval of the test and they were waiting for the lab to get approval. This seems to be the lab approval notification and I'm guessing GDR will appear in an official list for approved tests. It may be why GDR have not yet made the formal announcement.

KD, specifically that page relates to COVID 19 RT-PCR and they only fo GDR RT-PCR as per their website...

Capacity is scalable.... Cytiva will see to that. One production line does 10k tests per hour, easy to duplicate. Its then a matter of raw materials.

We must have an RNS on this now surely and some indication on volumes and where Gates may be subsidising the test cost?

GHIF have effectively loaned GDR money for an agreed interest rate which was convertible into shares at an agreed price. They do this to help companies bring healthcare and diagnostic products to market. They are not interested in making lots of profit, they are interested in investing in products that deliver better health. So they have their profit, they now cash that and invest in the next great idea.

BigAl, it suggests that BC/GDR are providing a 'system'. Although each will have separate regulatory approvals which will allow it to be used in certain territories like the US, India, EU, there may be some countries that will want to run their own validation trials on the combined system and/or some where additional approvals may be needed. An example might be China which doesn't accept CE or FDA. I think they are just being ultra cautious in their wording.

GHIF will shortly reach the limit of what they can sell, as soon as they converted their loan they were always going to sell what they could as the profit was already locked in. I think they can sell up to the 10m then thats locked in until next year.

And just to add, if the UK is prepared to spend £41.5Bn on its defence budget, £1Bn on mass testing of the population gets put into stark contrast.

Agree Big. Also with WHO confirming a 5 year window of opportunity those with tests now and the ability to deliver them will dominate. It won't be the me-too tests, it will be tests that allow for efficiencies in testing (scale up and implementation), and delivery to more POC locations.

Good summary Plant, I think Genedrive's markets are elsewhere and will show how poorly judged the UK have been in sourcing homegrown innovation. The bigger markets are elsewhere.

We'd all take an offer of £250m. If bead volumes are up in the 100k per day (£1m revenue per day) it would be a no brainer for Danaher to move in. They'll be watching to see where the POC test is as it complements their other businesses line. Long term that's the opportunity once Covid abates

The investment choice is simple, wait until news drops in the hope the price will not rise significantly before hand, or invest now knowing that even if it does pull back the business is undervalued based on the expected news flow. Tough call, I should imagine most will invest now since time is almost gone before that news drops.
