I do get the whiff of news, I know it's obviously coming and has been coming for a while, and every day is a day closer, but I can smell an RNS being readied

Any educated investor who knows and understands the diagnostics business will know that there's room for everyone in this pandemic and each company has products with different benefits that attract different customers.

Each company therefore has different sales strategies, DB taking the view that a few large partners better than many smaller ones. NCTY has a business selling B2C. Genedrive will sell B2B and its just a different set up. No need to put either down.

Beads are room temperature stable for 12 months - the NCYT test is room temperature stable for shipping only, then needs -20C storage. Reduces the logistics around storage and handling of product. Also allows distribution world wide to every lab without worrying about cold chain.

Internal control built into each test - the NCYT requires separate control standards. This means that the NCYT test has more inconclusive results, the GDR test can tell if the test has not worked due to sample issues

Probe based chemistry - the NCYT test is built around taqman. The GDR test can provide important information on genotype, particularly if there is a mutation in the sequence which would throw the NCYT test and provide a false negative. Genedrive test more robust when it comes to mutations

End point melt - The NCYT test requires realtime machines which are in limited supply. The GDR test can use any standard PCR machine making it cheaper to set up mass testing - important for countries such as India and the US where cost of scale is important

I’m sorry but people talk such carp. Firstly the complain that there’s not enough information coming from the company compared to others who constantly churn out meaningless information about buying more toilet paper or the equivalent, then complain when GDR announce that their test works equally well on one of the leading providers of robotics systems. This is not insignificant. I says the test can be integrated and adopted by very high throughput labs. An important and key step. And again given when the company said it would be, around 6 weeks from when they first announced the collaboration.

Next step approvals which the company has no control over. Then sales.

I wonder if the large sellers like InterTrade are reported back to GDR BOD and whether that could be useful in delaying an RNS until the last moment...

Grim, one ray of light is that the lab approval would probably have been run along the lines that the lab was competent to run their diagnostic testing for COVID, they would of checked procedures, quality control and process. The fact is this would have been centred around the Genedrive test, so they would all be pretty confident everything would align. It’s not there until it’s there, but it’s all but there.

What we need to recognise is that DIVOC are also doing the testing so unlike the other distributors GDR have that then find customers, DIVOC are the customer. Amazing opportunity and a great partnership.

To some extent BC is the same as they’re providing a closed systems to customers that from the sound of the RNS are already in place.

Once approvals are in, sales are staked up and market cap will soar.

That’s the exciting part, good news will come, but on which day nobody knows.

GDR aren’t in control of the news flow, that’s the regulator bodies. We might hear something about the POC device, but india and beckman are contingent on external bodies. I think the sentiment will build and build. Sales if successful will be mean the market cap can be much higher than it is, perhaps as high as £200m-£300m. Sales numbers will dictate that.

Dave, I didn't read the DIVOC labs all being molecular labs necessarily. Enough for me to say we'll be selling our capacity into India and US and potentially get the UK to look at our technology if they get their act together and automate our testing here.

@bigb, I say that too. What a farce. Hearing other reports it seems that the UK don't use robotics, so without the Genedrive beaded format people have to manually pipette those 250k tests. They really need to get a grip on this and install proper testing facilities. Those poor scientists will be run ragged, they're doing an outstanding job, give them the proper tools.

Split that between India and US against the huge upscaling in testing it could take GDRs capacity quite quickly.

KD, yes agreed, but on this occasion MOIL seems to have given some very credible feedback via his direct contact with DIVOC. I can only therefore assume that since this was shown to be correct that GDR have been made aware of impending approvals and so will now make an announcement on that. Would be nice to get some indication of numbers from them too as this will help stabilise any rise.
