what they were voting for is not entirely correct. People were told "restrictions on immigration" and that's what they wanted to hear. Most pro Brexiters probably didn't give a toss about political, financial or economical benefits. On the other hand even now, after all these discussions no one knows for sure what's better. Short term it's pain for sure, long term? Who knows. Only time will tell. One thing is certain though - we won't get more independent. While politicians are talking about more independence, honestly, it sounds unreal these days. If you cut ties with one partner you have to strike a deal with another. So, it's just moving from EU to other ties.
