Was anything said about the legal action which is aimed at reducing spurious claims?
Often news leaks and share prices react in advance of results. With that in mind and given the run up in the price over the last few days, I have just topped up. Fingers crossed.
I think the appointment of a coo is the sign sms is preparing to leave and handover the reins. Whatever way you look at it , with a 12 month view the sp here should climb significantly, barring ww3 of course!
Sek, the evidence that the earth's core is causing global warming to some degree is being ignored. The ocean temperature s have risen more at depth than nearer the surface plus the antartic ice sheet has reduced near the fault plate but thickened on the other side is significant. Also the degree of volcanic activity and earth quakes in recent times adds to that view, but it is career limiting for scientists to talk about those things. Eventually the truth will out and while I am on about it , why does nobody talk about watervapour - far more powerful than co2 as a greenhouse gas and produced in larger quantities when fossil fuels are burned? Akward perhaps?
My mistake - 'consider paying a dividen this year' and 'operating profit' only. Still it has to be cheap??
I thought we would get at least 10% on the sp today - the business seems to be priced as if it is going bust when in fact it is profitable and paying a divi. What am I missing?
Results better than I expected and sp will rise imv.
Exceed expectations means sp rise .
Kums, I was expecting a RNS this week giving it a lift prior to easter - we shall see.
KPA, apparantly the earth 's core is causing increased volcanic and earthquake activity . Evidence that it is a contributor is that the oceans have warmed more at lower levels and the antartic sea ice has thinned near a fault line but increased away from the fault line. Problem we have is that only a few scientists want to deviate from the narrative that it is all down to carbon dioxide. I am no expert btw.
The results looked pretty good to me it is just that it is tarred with the oil and gas brush even though much of the business is in other sectors. Frankly I think there would be huge value creation by splitting the group up and getting a premium for the non oil and gas parts but I have seen nothing on that front . Lets hope for a bid and that the scientists start to realise that the extra activity in the earths core is causing most of the sea temperature rise .
I guess the rich americans are now rolling out of bed and starting to buy.
Results not great imv , when compared with Flutter BUT the strategy looks compelling and if the market buy into the optimism we could get a decent rise here , more so than with fltr which has growth priced in to some degree. [ I hold both 888 and fltr]. We shall see.
Further up today on great numbers and move to new york imv.
Gary, ref low mcap - they are growing faster than next, generate higher profits and have mapped out global expansion but are rated much lower - why? Next manage the news very well and our ceo is a beginner, unfortunately.
Gary, no net debt cash rich unless they have spent it all buying out minority holdings !!
