JTT that is good advice! Nice to see.
PR53 the whole England team couldn't even make that today!!
Ha! Ditto. I'd only like to bat until 100 if the wicket is forgiving. So at the moment I live for today. Long lives are only good if you're well (off) enough to enjoy them. My mum died 2 years ago at 92 but her last 5-10 years were by no means pleasant. Good luck and good health!
PR53......quite, but that's up to them isn't it? I assume you're a younger investor planning for the future, so your strategy is pefectly understandable. Some of us are already in the future, as it were, and are just trying to augment our pensions etc. so our strategy might be different to yours. Sobeit. Bottom line....we are all trying to make money. How we do it is entirely on our own shoulders, but good advice re the book.
Peeps, there's been a lot of tetchiness on here today about Day Traders v LTHs, but if we all look at the situation, we are all here to make money, and how we do that is down to individual preference. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Day Trading. Some here have called it nothing less than gambling. Professional Day Traders are generally intelligent, well-informed and wealthy individuals, who do not risk money they can't afford to lose, but equally don't blindly trade on guesses. They use an arsenal of data from charts, knowledge of the market they're in, news etc etc to create their strategy. Part-time Day Traders may well be different, and take on more risk than they should, but if that's what they want to do, fine.
There have been some pompous posts here today, about how so much more ethical it is to "invest" longterm in a company, to better that company and its employees et al. whilst knocking those who day trade as greedy charlatans. They sit on a very high horse if you ask me. I invested longterm in PMO, believing in the company, and look where that got me! CEO sold out and shafted shareholders. So all this "my strategy is better than yours" stuff is total bull rocks. Just live and let live. And try to make some money, however you wish to do that. I was in profit this morning.....and now I'm not, but hey-ho, tomorrow is another day, and I believe that RR will do just fine in the long run. Will I trade from time to time? Maybe. Will I just sit and hold? Maybe. When I have a reasonable amount of profit, trying a trade becomes a risk I'd be willing to take. At present, I'm still waiting for enough profit to make that a choice. GLA, and be nice to each other, eh?
.......I'm in profit! Now I can enjoy the ride.
Ha! Mine's a Spoonerism, as DarthTrader was already taken when I joined. Not sure you can change them once registered.
My apologies.....your comment was obviously meant for Fisherking. I'd mentioned day traders in my post so got confused! I get easily confused these days!!!
I wasn't suggesting there was.....have done it frequently myself. It suits many. Btw, is your moniker a typo???
Yes Knowbody, I do believe sentiment is changing, and barring any catastrophes turning up I am hopeful of 150-175p this year. I can't see some of the optimistic/unrealistic figures mentioned on here from time to time, though some of the ventures in the pipeline, if successful, might prove me wrong. Wouldn't that be nice!
The strong pound has dented the FTSE but RR is slowly climbing, which is heartening. Although large spikes are exciting (and probably favour day traders who benefit from large swings), I, for one, am quite happy to see a steady uptick. Although I haven't reached my break-even price yet of 116p I don't think it will be long in coming. GLA.
Good luck with that. Can't see it opening anywhere near 114.95 so you should be fine.
He's a time-traveller, and saw todays chart yesterday. If not, sheer luck!
Does it really matter? Just more buying opportunity.
....that was a welcome little foray back to 105.54, so topped up by a further 5000. Nice day!
Haha! Quite. And presumably they'll want to be paying as little as possible for them.
And of course, this technology can be exported. I'm sure there'll be lots of clients for SMRs. Not everyone wants to build a huge nuclear plant.
Exactly. No vaccine is 100% effective, but they do say that even in those cases where someone is infected after vaccination, that any illness will be less severe. I think we can be pretty happy about the vaccine rollout.
Does anyone know if the dividend that was stopped will be paid, or has that just been written off?
Is it just me with wishful thinking, or does the sp seem to be itching to break out northwards? RR. doing OK as well.
