Yes. Pretty strange. Looked a solid set of results, in line with communication and expectations. Maybe just some unfulfilled dividend expectations?
I dont want to get into a scrap. But the loan you are worried about, is small. On past experience, Im pretty sure Robbie would just repay it himself, if there was a serious problem.
Not sure what the comment about half the operation being shut for the foreseeable means?
And the holding company was not "nearly struck off". To not be accusued of online bullying again, Ill go with a euphemism and call it a "creative embellishment of the facts".
Hogeyed and JC, you guys are ruining this board with your reasoned disposition. This board was so nice and calm while you lot and your facts were away!
Itsyou and JC, it's worth noting, for the purposes of your debate that Kili, under GCat is not at explorer developed greenfield project. There was a listed miner operating here before us. That's not to say the area has been fully explored and properly measured and documented. We know that some of the cash we are raising will be for that and expansion has always been the game here. But neither is it a case that a bunch of guys just pitched camp in a bit of Kenyan scrubland and started digging. I'm pretty sure the team have identified priority areas and low hanging fruit, with a fairly decent idea of what to expect. But how they have prioritised their digging has not been fully explained to us, bar you extrapolating from a single word not there, in a pretty brief update . As long as they're mining and hopefully cash positive, with some new (and welcome) appointments, then I'm comfortable that tomorrow's another day and once we have the cash to start exploring again, we can develop and grow into the sort of miner we all want to see. Crawl, walk, then run. For now, happy to be crawling.
Going to have to rename Sharky to Butkus (if thats not too obscure a reference)!
Good to see that the rumours of our death were grossly exaggerated. Im sure that there is plenty more Robbie would like to be discussing that is still sensitive. But frankly, Im happy to take whatever tidbits are availible to help those who have been feeling anxious. Hopefully there is more to come.
DMors, I too have had my struggles on this at times. Don't give up hope. Looking at your posting history, I suspect you're not anywhere as far underwater as many others here, including me. While I am not going to debate any specifics on this share any more here (its become ridiculous and ultimately unimportant) I certainly have not given up hope. There is a fair bit of information around, that indicates plenty of signs of life in this business. Hang in there. Nobody is promising "jam tomorrow", but in the same vein, certainly don't believe anybody who tells you that your investment has been lost, either. That is simply not true. Hang in there, at least until we get proper word, which I suspect is close.
I think so too Daniel. There are signs of the swan's feet furiously kicking under the water for those are investigating closely. But very frustrating nonetheless.
I think there's room for both on this one. Mara Rosa has been a drag on sentiment and the share price. Surely there'd be some relief to see it finally get going? But that rising tide of sector rotation, if it ever finally happens, will hopefully be the multiplier.
Yes. I dont have a problem with a placing. Clearly communicated, open for participation and at a decent and fair price. Its a good way to raise funds. Certainly better than the exorbitant rates being paid on loans right now. My problem is with how this one was done. And how you take such joy in it.
I understand that frustration.... but surely its deep breath time. To sell now, after the overnight raise, is surely the 'sell the bottom', emotional reaction that bottom feeders like Niel are looking for. The team have money in the bank and their mates have their grubby paws on some fresh cheap paper, it'll be worth waiting out the bounce back, surely?
Can't be faulted because you got yours? Or because one institution got notification out? Or maybe it stinks to high hell, because the rest did not? What logical explanation is there for doing an offer after hours, at a deep discount, open for just a short period? I can think of only one. It was a rinse and is disgraceful.
Just to clafify, thats seven years until its actually in production. They best get cracking.
When I was at school, we used to run a sweepstakes in class. Everybody used to chip into the pot and then the person who could say the dumbest thing, without getting chucked out, took the pot. ... For some reason that old game just popped into my head.
Even if a placing were likely (a very big hypothetical 'if') what makes you presume that its not what investors would want to hear? It would imply that a project is coming to fruition that would generate a few hundred percent ROI on the capital raised. Why would anybody not want that?
Not sure if its necessarily the story here, but often huge spreads on small trades are the fee free trading apps, which gouge on horrendous spreads.
I wasnt necessarily targeting anyone specific. Sorry if I implied that. Its a very common deramp. Maybe the all time favourite favourite?
People love using 'placing' as a trigger for fear. Just saying whatever sounds vaguely plausible to sow a bit of fear to help them get their price. I used to challenge the standard 'placing' deramp, when it came up, pointing out that even if it were an option to raise cash, that's a very normal and healthy route for a small cap. And, as long as the shares are issued at a good price and the capital shows a good return, placings are great. However eventually, I realised that those who throw bogeyman catchwords into the discussion, are only looking for cheap entries to make their 10%. They have zero interest in what their little catch phrases actually mean or whether the event is even on the table.
So the fact that this is a healthy small cap, just getting on with healthy small cap things, wont be a discussion the catchphrase crowd will be looking to have. They couldnt care. They're similarly not here to discuss government or energy or prospects.
Sometimes the trader crew mess up what is otherwise very good news.
Always a good sign to see a few characters talking a share down on the open, with stupid derampy headers to get attention. Probably furiously selling £5 tranches on freetrades. Looking forward to them telling us, we dont want to be out of it for the weekend, later :D
