Hello Sj...Yes, what fun we've had...I've been in this longer than I'd remembered...looking through my certificates the other day I bought my first little batch in November 2010 and they were 22p.

Sarup63...I suppose to be fair it was a bit of a milestone, it's many years (not counting the 1 day wonder blip) since it was 15p. I've been very excited for some time about this but I've now moved on to absolutely terrified territory so probably a few more nervy, tetchy posts in the next few weeks. :-)

Eric...I wish I knew more about chemistry...I only know about organic stuff, plants.. and soil. Atoms and chemical bonding is alchemy to me but it all goes on in soil.

I was reading a book last night on the Platonic solids..it's enough to turn you into a completely mad sort of Alchemist completely lost to the normal world.

he structure is exactly the same the properties as you say are not. I have a phd in organic chemistry and know what an allotrope of carbon is i also know how these things bond chemically. I can not be more clear graphene is graphite but one atom thick; if you took graphite and made it one atom thick it would be graphene.

Wish we could we make better use of the thread system on here and stop muddling topics...General Chatter, Insults, Up and Down, Misc and Underwear, Graphene, etc? We could keep up to date in the areas we're most interested in and save a lot of time.

I thought Graphene was the same as Graphite but altered...now I'm reading it's a building block of Graphite. It's a one layer, hexagonal lattice, immensely strong. Would like to know more about it.
