Ibjj...look on the bright side, it means you can get in cheaper...except you would have to take a gamble on the decision.

Contrary to what Ibjj said this morning about previous Ministers, I always thought Mr Damberg was pro mines and he couldn't make the decision in favour of the mine because the MP were blocking it. Didn't he say the law was enough with respect to the Laponia, that mines are where they are and the reindeer business and mining can be managed together. Now he's got Finance...good.

No I don't think it's a rubber stamp process that will be completed it four weeks, it's an intensive process that has been under investigation for nine years and it might be completed very shortly. And there's something else we agree on Takayama, what I want is nothing to do with it. :-)

No, that isn't what I meant...I meant there's no chance of the Government thinking it can blame a previous administration for issuing Beowulf with an Exploration Licence; the Government and all Parties in the Riksdag (except MP) support mining in principle...more than that they're enthusiastic about it...Sweden is a mining nation and has been for more than a thousand years.

There's no chance of that Takayama...the Mining Policy of Sweden and the laws that govern it has been updated at least once in the last nine years and all parties in the Rikstag have supported it, except the MP. It was debated about two years and the Riksdag threw out proposals to change the rules. The MPs chances of getting back into Government are looking pretty slim at the moment...most recent Poll for February from Swedish Politico gives them 3.00%.

"Sweden has a more than 1,000-year history of ore mining and metal production. Up to 3,000 mines have been found in Sweden, most of them located in Berg****en. Sweden's mining history dates back to the 11th century.

In 2020, there were a total of twelve mines in operation, all of which were metal mines. Never in the 2000s has the interest in exploring metals and minerals been so small.

The outside world is turning its eyes in other directions because Sweden has such complicated and long lead times for decisions. We must reverse that trend and make Sweden a strong mining nation again with sustainable green production and recycling. The government is tasked with reviewing review processes and regulations, but that task seems to be dragging on.

My question to Minister of Trade and Industry Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson will therefore be:

When will the Minister review the long-term permit processes for test mining and environmental permits so that Sweden becomes a strong mining nation again? "
