Dimi - Yes agree I do the same and spread across my portfolio some shares I almost day trade to give a short term growth, whereas others I look for a longer term. However bear in mind not everyone can do this all of the time, especially if they have ended up with most eggs in one basket. When I left Mr Buffet I sold Thomas Cook as I needed to pay bills as I was paid off after having a life saving operation when I could not work. Nice firm. If I had kept my shares I had I would have made an absolute fortune -however sometimes in life events can take a turn for the worse. Hi DK, - it is a hell of a lot, but we do not know exactly how much will be there as this is what caused the disagreement with the GOT to begin with. However the annual report spoke about $250m worth plus, remember when we had full production Acacia was one if not the largest Gold producer in Africa. I read about there being a Gold rush over there in a certain place at the weekend where the G.O.T were concerned about the safety of the people.
The other benefit if the "dust or soil held in the containers can be released for processing" is the bye products they also produce i.e. Silver, Copper and Iron ore, etc -, which have also all gone up in price. .

Agree now very interesting by the words. We will continue to engage in talks is different to what they have told me previously that they had not heard from Barrick regarding a proposal/ deal. Clearly they have reported the results to Barrick and talks have started. I feel this is Very cleaver of them to just drop this in and play this all down, especially with a small underlying note which should mean so much for the share price.
If they had made this a separate announcement we would be flying high.

Acacia told me they have 14 Analysts all going to upgrade the price on Acacia.

Great news - overweight stance and £250 first target. They will be recommending to their clients coming in here. Great news next week on we might start to see action. Silly shorters they are trying one last ditch today, but the tide could turn here now very quickly.

I spoke to my contact at the firm yesterday who is very reliable and they told me that actually analysts were raising their prices and they told me in person that from the 14 analysts who cover them at the moment they cover the average price at about 216p. -So I cannot explain the fall today. If there was any bad news they would have told me.

If Aca are in Court then they will have their Lawyers and Insurers involved for the staff and Company position. However as you reported last time when we had the deal discussions with the GOT coming to a solution the Legal actions were put back and so they must be related and affecting the position?
So I wonder if a deal might well be forced through to avoid embarrassment of the Court Appearance.

I do not see much currency movement either -only Gold now over 1300an oz, and threats for the EU for the Uk to have a long Brexit which might mean we crash out instead?

Acacia as you say has support around the 1.93 level until over £2.00 and then drops back. I was wondering if some of the other shorts shares where they have been buying back is the same trend with a wider range?
I.e Volatility certainly seems to be there on the travel Comps such as Thomas Cook, Easyjet, Stobart, etc, not surprising really with all the Brexit (falling pound) and now B737 MAX issues.
Sooner or later I am sure the big investors will start coming in here and the range will grow. i.e. I can see Mercantile and General coming back in here as I hear from one of their men on the street they see this now as a blip, and they used to hold 5% of Acacia. Once they start buying back in this will "rock" which could be very soon.

VV- Yes worth watching, I was wondering if when they turn long that share whatever it is might be is one to watch? However with MW sometimes they have come out completely (well below .50%) sitting at 0.49% and then suddenly they come back in. They came out when they felt the deal was done here with the GOT but as it became clear it would take time they came back in on short for a little bit longer (so it seems), If they work with B/Rock then they will could possibly be fed a lot of info as we know BR are very large shareholders in most Comps? I wonder if there is also a currency play going on?

VV- Most here appear to use "shorttracker.co.uk" if you can plug that into your search.
They actually only record in excess of 0.50% and MW are in and out of Acacia and we suspect they work with B/Rock with a loan out facility or change in the use of their financial instruments - allegedly? They do both seem to adjust their holding allocation at around about the same time it is true. Like BB's has suggested in the past instead of one being afraid, one can use their positions to gain advantage. I.e. if they have shorted it will mean they have to buy back and so the current price is false. I reckon we should be back at about £2.30 if we were on a level playing field. I am studying if when they reduce their shorts it is a good time to buy more in a Company but will need to study this on each share for the reason for the tactical change?

Hi Dimi -not sure I agree as gold is becoming increasing used in the electronics industry as it is one of the best conductors known to man. Look at your Hi-Fi connectors, etc, etc. .
If trade picks up I expect all commodities will benefit to be honest.
With relations improving between the USA and China you may see them come in here yet.

Looks like a USA & China deal is approaching and likely to be signed off soon. This will help us tremendously. ie.. It could be the difference with the three Chinese Companies currently discussing and signing their deal with Acacia.
Also with increased trade commodity prices will rise with demand and trade will pick up.

I therefore expect us here at Acacia and the other miners share prices rising.

STB - I also do this for fun as well.
I used to work for one of Warren Buffet's Companies and this is my slush. None of my Pension or Salary depend on this money. However you can build up your portfolio by buying stocks that have taken a hit and waiting for them to recover.. but never rely on one source of income. I found the market always overreacts and sometimes Companies are hit for the short term but I always look for a longer term. What is a longer term depends simply on you and how long you are willing to hold. Most shares are cyclical. 3 years ago we were £5-6, then we were £1, now £2, work that one out?.No one is right all the time, and we all learn something every day. Now I need to take my Horlicks -have a good evening.

Share to buy are you also shares you own? If so I would write to Acacia press office. I do not work for Acacia but correspond with them (as any fund Manager or personal investor would do).
Also suggest you take the time to read the Acacia Annual report just released for clues?

I see this as a great opportunity and may even come in for some more once we get into the new tax year.

Looking at the 3 yr chart for Acacia before the export controls by the G.O.T (hopefully coming to an end very soon) per the Barrick discussions, then as all shares are known to be Cyclical I see no reason for this share not to return to the levels previously enjoyed between £5 to £6 a share, That is before any extra consideration is given for the new mines projected in Kenya and Mali referred to in the firms annual report.

Clearly this is also why the firm has now also issued notice of "options" for its directors as they know this current share price is far too cheap considering all that it has going for it.
